WUBL, now the highest rated Clear Channel station in Atlanta for June

Kudos to WUBL for being the highest rated Atlanta Clear Channel station in shares according to the latest PPM ratings, #16 for all stations. It kind of describes Clear Channel in Atlanta as a whole which is way below par compared to other U.S. cities where you find at least one Clear Channel station in the top 5. Once an afterthought, WUBL is now starting to become a freak of nature.

Other notes: WZGC did great in June. TrueOldies is neck and neck with the River.

Hopefully the Bull can keep the momentum going. Scott Lindy has improved the imaging and the music, making it skew much younger than Kicks. I think Jason and Kristen are starting to gel in the mornings. Jason thinks pretty quick on his feet. This morning was a great example when they were playing like a newlywed type game for Rascal Flats tickets and Kristen dialed the number of a woman's husband, but she dialed it wrong and got somebody else, and the woman said that's not my husband, The guy on the other end handled it very well and was quite funny, and Jason said that was probably the most excitement that guy had had for weeks. Sounded like is was all live too.
Anyway, Madison always sounds great (VT aside), Lance is just Lance, nothing fancy here, but the focus is on the music, and Ty at night is pretty darn good. The weekends are the weakest area, although they just launched a new show called "Backyard Country" were local artists can submit their music for airplay. They must really be running lean these days because both Kristen and Lance are voice tracking both Sat and Sundays. I think they may only have one live dj on the weekends.
I wonder if how much of the gains the Bull has made is tied to them dumping the Braves?
Anyway, great job Scott, and the rest of the Bull staff. Keep up the good work!

The May numbers seemed a little strange. As far as country, Kicks, The Bull and Legend all went up. Dave-FM had its highest numbers since its debut in 2005. And the stations that went up affected Q100. What happened to them?

Congrats to Star 94 on reclaiming the Top 40 crown. I didn't realize it would happen so quickly, but it's certainly well-deserved. As I posted about a month and a half back, nearly every facet of the station is sounding superb right now. JR and the staff have done an excellent job of returning the station to glory.

highly possible....., or maybe i just really sucked on the air. whatever the case, i had a great time working there and i can't say enough good things about the people i worked with during my nine months, live, inside the hardy family automotive group studio......; is there a rehab program for radio station withdrawal? perhaps i got my answer when they told me "thanks.., but no thanks"; it doesn't take a house falling on me to realize i'm not in kansas any more; ding-dong, this dj's dead.

Re: June Ratings

I also noticed the non-commercial stations are now showing up. WABE is getting pretty good ratings (12+). They are beating The Bull, Project, The Fish, WGST (almost double), WGKA, and the sports stations.

WRAS (Georgia State) appears, but not WREK (Georgia Tech). Maybe Tech students will finally realize no one wants to listen to sound effects 24/7.

And WSB-AM is falling off a cliff. The gap between them and V103 widening. Time for a change at WSB-AM (less conservative talk, one would hope)?

Is WREK encoding? Not to say that I don't agree with your assessment of WREK's format.

WNIV is showing up, albeit with a tiny cume and without the obligatory note that they are simuling with WLTA.

It's not that the non-comms just happen to be showing up. They got ratings with the diary also, but Arbitron chose not to publish their numbers in the data that commercial stations, agencies and the public saw. The non-commercial ratings have always been available to the non-commercial stations if they bought them, which WABE did.
