WXBT's Wikipedia entry (as well as the entries of other Columbia stations).

I've decided to start adding information to Wikipedia's Columbia radio entries by starting out with WXBT (the former WSCQ) and would like to get every one's opinion on it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WXBT

(I know it's far from complete, but it's a start.)

Also, can someone help me out with the exact date of WXBT's format change? Did they stunt into the new format or did they segue directly into it?

Thanks,
Robyn

Thanks, Neil. This project isn't as easy as it looks! I have a touch of the flu right now and I'm tired of trying to sleep it off. Might as well put my free time to good use.

<<ah, ah, ah, AH CHOOOO>> <sniff>

well i hope you get better soon robyn. as for wxbt, i'm not certain if they stunted or not, i was out of town the afternoon they flipped, but came back to columbia that night with a huge surprise as i flipped on 100.1. in the post earlier, i may have the date wrong, because i do remember hearing them on independence day of 2003. it may have been june 17 instead of july 17 of the format change. sorry about that.

Hey Robyn hope ya get to feeling better... The Wilk site was a very interesting read, and was very informative... Do you have any plans for other stations in Cola Town??? CC1

Hi CC,

Yes, I've spent most of yesterday afternoon working on the ones for WLTY, WFMV, WCOS-FM & AM, WLXC, & WXRY-LP. It's far from complete, but it's a start.

One very good reason why I'm taking an interest into this project is because the radio industry is always changing and it is difficult to document. After seeing several of the Wiki entries for other station's histories in the other markets, I feel that we deserve the same.

Robyn

Amazing, Robin!

It'll help our future radio geeks out. Instead of relying on aging (even if ever so slowly aging) brains, folks will be able to look it up!
