WXKT - Bulldog 103.7 COL to Maysville, Ga

Now I see that Cox has put in a change for WXKT (Formerly:WPUP) to Maysville, Ga. Dropping from 25,000 Watts to 4,100 watts. It looks like they are backing it out of Athens, and toward Gainesville. **Let the Changes begin** Cox is not wasting time!!

Coverage, total area-wise, is about the same with the taller stick (250m vs. 100m). It looks like WNGC and WXKT will be sharing a tower.

I wonder if Cox is going with the lower power to get the tower move, and then may up the power once on the taller stick.

Speaking of towers, and not to get too far OT, what were the tower locations of WFOX and WWID before they moved into ATL? How much power did they have? I always had an easier time getting WWID than Fox...it didn't seem like ATL had anything of consequence above V-103 at the time, while getting Fox was tricky as sometimes Fox would get smeared by 96 Rock on a cheap radio.

Ixnay on any power increase for WXKT after the tower move. Per the app, the 4100 watts gives them only about 5 miles of separation from V-103.

With the newest APP changing the COL from Arcade to Maysville and putting the Bulldog 103.7 (WXKT) on the current WNGC tower. I wonder if possibly they may move WNGC back to their original tower just north of Athens? I know when 95.5 WNGC was on that tower you could hear it in Atlanta nicely. It don't know how to look at a coverage map for that tower, since it is not active.

What about the Fish/WYAY tower near Winder/Loganville (don't remember exactly)? Also, IIRC, there's another tower near there that 95.5 WBTS was using after they moved from Athens but before they moved to the WSRV (and formerly WYAY) tower near Chateau Elan. Not sure who's on that other tower today, if anyone.

The Fox Tower is still the home of 97.1 the River and 95.5 The Beat. ..I think...Channel 34 Univision (Spanish)is there also.

You're correct. That tower was built specifically for The Beat. But the signal bounced off Stone Mountain, which hurt Atlanta reception. I'm guessing it's just The Beat's backup site.

Bulldog 103.7 is now known as Bulldog 100.1 . They are not mentioning the 103.7 freq as of today. I assume that the 103.7 Freq will go on its own soon ....What do you think the format will be?

Bulldogg is coming in loud and clear in Conyers/Covington,WNGC did have a good signal in Atalnta back when it was 95.5 and it does with 106.1 but only in good weather. WYAY and the Fish did hacve a tower near loganville.
