WXTK 95.1 News Talk Cape Cod Top of the Hour delays.

Since I spend a lot more time on Cape Cod now, I've started to listen to WXTK for Rush and Howie. One thing that drives me crazy about the station is the extra commercial they seem to want to sneak into every break. I notice it mostly at the top or bottom of the hour when they have news breaks, but sometimes it's just when they're coming back from commercial. Sometimes they'll miss what seems like half of Howie's produced show intro, or Rush will just be talking to a caller mid sentence. Maybe I'm knit picking, I know it's not the big Boston market down in Hyannis, but this drives me crazy when I'm listening. I don't know if I'm asking a question or just going on a rant about how that annoys me. Feel free to comment.

PS the Glen Beck show is god awful. I lean far to the right, but his show is unlistenable (is that a word?).

I would suspect that the reason for the extra commercials is for the revenue for the station, but they could put it in a better time.

Like you, I lean to the right, and agree you about Glenn Beck's show. He's good on TV, but his radio show is just not entertaining at all. I really prefer Laura Ingraham's show - it's more informative and entertaining. :)

WXTK is better off using that system that eliminates seconds of silence from the host, building up a new window in which to play an extra commercial. I don't know what it's called, but I believe Clear Channel invented it...

I have a feeling that if you use said system during Glenn Beck's show, you might create time to play an extra three or four commercials! :D

Isn't it called "cashbox" or something?
