WXXI-AM Vet Bob Smith Retires: Health Problems Cited

I'm sure that it's best for Bob as he works to recover from his illness, but it's not the way any of us wants to leave "the biz". I wish him well, and hope that he's able to join us on these forums again soon.

I don't know Bob personally but I have always enjoyed his posts here and I wish him the best. Hang in there Bob!

I've only had the pleasure of meeting Bob on a handful of occasions, but found him every bit as kind as Mark has described him. His gracious demeanor and his thoughtful approach to radio have been and will continue to be missed.

I wish Bob strength and courage as he re-habs. Always a gentleman on these boards and in person, it would be great to someday see his posts return here, and given the opportunity, hear his voice again on the radio. In time.

Bob is a class act in our business. I hope he returns to this forum with his observations soon.
