WYLL AM 1160 Heard In The Night From Walls Of Lockport, IL Family Home

That reminds me of many years ago when the station was WJJD and transmitted solely from Des Plaines I used to hear it through my tape recorder.
 
WYLL at night at my home in Crystal Lake is not strong enough to block out some minor interference. But as those of us who who hang out on the "DX and Reception" board can tell you, WYLL turns up on a fairly regular basis during winter nights on an online receiver in Arctic Norway.

WELLLLLLL ... this might explain it. WYLL is a "Christian talk and teaching" station." 6 days or 6 years ... you realllllly don't want to mess around with the man upstairs ... a little further up than the attic.
 
My relatives lived 3 miles SE of WJJD 1160 on Ballard Rd. The field was estimated to be about 400 mV/m. The only thing that I noticed is that it came in very well on my Rocket Radio, and pinned the signal meter on my Sony Portable. I also couldn't get WHFB 1060 Benton Harbor without turning the radio to null out WJJD.

Back in Michigan, I had a Remco Caravelle that was grounded at the far end of a copper water pipe that went to the outdoor faucet. The strong signals came in softly with it off, in the transmit position, even without the battery. I figured it was the "off air monitor" for the Part 15 transmitter. You could hear it at the far end of the basement when it was quiet. The signals that usually came in were from 5000 watt stations 3 or 4 miles away.
 
Did they ever get this resolved?
As an Interference Mitigation guy, I would love to know, and add to the stories I have to tell.
I've never been able to reach the station.
