I know this is a dollar and cents game just like all businesses are but if you are in
a town with 4 or 5 let's say.. hammer makers why would you open up another hammer maker store???? What's on 99.3 can be found several other places with stronger signals and more local personality. The Classic Top 40 99.3 was until last
August was the hole in the market but it too had very little personality, promotions or innovative programming. Its almost like First Media is scared to try anything different or management may not want 99.3 to get attention because if it did they may have to actually put some money into it.
Again in my opinion corporate is 80% to blame and the other 20% falls back on
a lack of guts to be different and being too timid to say we are not gonna do the same old thing. Also like everywhere else its hard to find dedicated, first rate
salespeople.99.3's numbers aren't great, revenue is not great and there seems to be no panic to try and change these conditions.I would love to have that frequency, give me a year let me do it my way and it it doesn't work I will crawl back under my rock and say I was wrong. When you ain't got nothin' you ain't got nothin' to lose said Bobby Bare. 99.3 is a perfect station to experiment, try some things and just see what happens. Like Jim A said if you don't care about
the station shut it off and turn in the license.Arbitron be dammed..what a joke, the market is only rated twice a year anyway.Be live, local, different and proud of it and work you tails off to be everywhere you can in the counties you serve and I believe the revenue will follow. If you sit back and do nothing, nothing is what you will get. Bring Back ZAX, play everything that hit the top 40 from 1965-1989.Show 99.3 the same attention you show 98.5 and 95.5 and watch the good things that will happen.Just my opinion because I admire alot of people in that building. There is so much talent in Rocky Mount.
They are good people and I hate to see their abilities not being used to their full
extent.Wake up Easton,MD you are lucky to have some really good people...
