Yay! Clear-channel Lubbock websites join the rest of the family!

Z102 finally has a web page worthy of looking at!
I noticed KFYO has also joined the crowd, so assume it's the same for all 6 stations.

Looks great!
Yay!

yeah I noticed that too! looks great. if only the station sounded better...i mean seriously, if i listen to the station for at least a couple hours, I know i will hear the same song at least once or twice. Z102 does a pretty good job butchering some great music because they can't go an hour or two without playin the same dang song over and over again. That goes for 104.9 too. I just hope Hot 97.3 doesn't take the same direction. Although I have never worked for radio or never have had any experience, I am a regular listener and I know that people don't like to hear the same songs over and over again.

(sorry for rambling but now back on the topic)...99.5 The Bear finally re-did their website as well. I thought it would never happen. It looks great too.

Hot 97.3 has a myspace...does that count as a website?

Yes, I'd say that counts!
And since myspace is owned by Fox's parent co, they can tie it in with Fox34 or MyTVnetwork if they ever get that here.

I agree with you about Z102, but unfortunately, that's more a reflection of the format right now. In Lubbock, we now have 4 stations that are of the Top40 Genre (which is a good thing, in my view).

I can't speak specifically about Z102. What I can say is, if a radio station decides that all it needs to do every year is change voice-over talents, update the playlist a bit and change the voice tracks a little to sound like new, that's not going to do it. Certain stations need to radically change their package, their formatic and their sound. And, in some rare cases, a name change is in order. Of course, if your radio station is doing fine as it is with sales (gee, I wonder who I could be talking about?), why fix what isn't broken? There are some cases where ratings do not matter. I think this is such a case.

imho.

KFYO's been on a CC website for over 2 years..... They just changed their layout over the new CC Web format.

Yes, I know. They are now using the same standard that all the CC talkers are using. The previous one was only being used by a few (like the one Springfield MA, for example).

But you knew that Anon...

Wow... you just described the CHR format. Good job. (not that I'm defending Z102, but ummm, that is how Top-40 radio works)

maybe you're not the targetted demo. i'm just sayin'.

I have heard plenty of top 40 stations and yes, they do play the same stuff over and over, but not nearly as much as z102 or lubbock radio in general(no offense to anyone who works with lubbock radio but i am a regular listener and i am going to give my honest opinion). I mean I can listen to z102 for an hour and hear the same song again. if your looking for something nice for me to say about z102, heres something. i like how sometimes they play some old songs that you don't hear much anymore. same with 104.9. the other day i heard miss jackson by outkast. you can't hear that much on any other station. so thats a plus about z102. they stick with the old stuff too.

im sorry if i "struck a nerve" or anything.
