You Judge, who is the best TV Judge?

Just caught Judge Alex on an out of market TV Station. He reminds me of Putty on Seinfeld. I think Judge Mathis might be the best TV Judge with Judge Judy a close second. I thought her husband on the Peoples's Court was the worst, and the Cuban Judge that replaced him is horrible. I once caught a show where her hair & nails were different colors in the same show?

Yes, I like Judge Mathis also. He's funny. And he also tells these teenagers and these early 20-something ghetto wannabees how it really is. And how stupid they are, for acting like ghetto wannabees. I like someone who tells it like it is. He won't side with a black guy just because he's black. If a black guy acted stupid, Judge Mathis will tell him he's stupid. He seems to be the most fair judge on TV.

I have seen Judge Alex a few times. That show is on the UPN affiliate in Providence. He does remind me of Putty from Seinfeld also! I don't have an opinion on that show just yet.

Judge Judy is a b*tch. It's obvious she's a man-hater. But she's somewhat fair when making her decisions. Yes, her husband, Judge Jerry was terrible on the People's Court. The current People's Court judge is O.K. in my opinion...not bad but not great either.

You're kidding. Judge Mathis? Not even Lance Ito could have run a more out of control courtroom. It's Jerry Springer with a gavel. Last time I saw the show, which was at least a season ago, he also had a bailiff that looks like he came out of one of those anti-steroids PSAs.

Judge Judy is the show you go on if you are clueless about the humiliation you are about to endure and the cheapskate monetary awards she usually hands out. But she keeps order.

Judge Joe "You've got to get some responsibility!" Brown hands out more cash, but all that hand-wringing....

I actually like Judge Marilyn "As I mother used to say" Milian. She is far better than her former colleages (maybe excepting Wapner). I always had the idea Judy's husband thought it was a mistake he signed that contract after the first week. He looked like he wanted out of there. There is also a major difference between the litigants coming out of east coast cities like NY and west coast folks from LA.

It's not fair to criticize the judge for production decisions. Almost every show tapes "cases" as "segments" and mixes and matches them. You'll often get a quicky dud coming after a long and involved case that occupies most of the half hour, for instance.

In -all- cases, I think these shows have run their course. After five years ago, every season brought more and more, but I suspect the ratings aren't what they used to be. Viewer fatigue strikes again.

You can pick on the Judge, but leave his Bailiff alone

Bailiff Brendan Moran flew out of a 26 Story building in 2002. Doyle Devereux took over in 2002 and is just fine, even had a role in a movie as a Tuxedo salesman. By the way the "anti-steroid" Bailiff was the one who took the dive.

I'm surprised no one brought up Judge Hatchett. She's good IMO.

I thought she was going out of Business? I'll tell you who is cool, Judge Mablean Ephriam. If I ever get married, then divorced, I would like to be on her show!

Judge Marilyn has a reputation as a tough, take-no-prisoners
judge in Miami. Although she's loud and obnoxious, I wouldn't
want to be before her in a courtroom. But NO ONE will ever
top Judge Wapner.
