YouTube to team with NBC on video for London Games

http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2012/03/05/Olympics/NBC-YouTube.aspx

Here's the relevant quote:

There has been a steady decline in young viewers for NBC’s broadcasts of the Olympics in recent years. The average age of a Summer Olympics prime-time viewer has risen by nine years since the Barcelona Games, according to data from Magna Global. Cordella and others at the network see the relationship at YouTube as a way to reverse that trend.

“That’s one of the big pros,” Cordella said. “You’re hitting a younger audience consuming through these mediums. To have a conduit into them is a key for us.”

This might provide a blueprint as to how best to move live sports from TV to Internet. Should the experiment work, look for the media companies to delve deeper into developing their own digital networks.

This means one should break the bank and buy a new computer monitor...large screen.
I don't know about you, but when I watch the Olympics...tv or internet, I WANT a LARGE screen! (at least 22 inches, as a starting point...larger preferred.)

Or you can get a media player that includes YouTube, such as a Sony SMP-N200 media player -- this way, you can watch YouTube, Netflix, and most major internet video services on your TV.

Or one of new smart TVs that have a YouTube app or a capable web browser.

I bought a new LG TV last year, and it has a VGA input as well as HDMI. Nearly all computers have at least one VGA jack, and it is not uncommon for them to have HDMI.
