Yvonne Craig, who played Batgirl on the ABC 1960s series of “Batman” died Monday. She was 78.
The actress passed away at her home in Pacific Palisades, California, according to her official website. Craig had been battling breast cancer that had metastasized to her liver.
She was known for her role of Batgirl and alter ego, librarian Barbara Gordon in the cult series starring Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin.
Craig, who was born in Illinois but grew up in Columbus, Ohio, also starred opposite Elvis Presley in “It Happened at the World’s Fair” and “Kissin’ Cousins.”
