Zanesville to become a rimshot market!

I dont know if they will go for a low power non commercial outlet. Just doesnt make sense for CVCO? Plus I know WNZR was on the hunt for a signal in Newark. I did hear that CVCO has been working with COLUMBUS AM RADIO GROUP (also known as WRFD-AM) to build their first "POSITIVE TALK 880". It would be a blend of Michael Medved, Dennis Prager and what not mixed in with local talkers.

I just wonder who in the world is going to buy WHIZ. Saga and North American are both on the hunt

"Let their staff go"? Who was left? Their entire format is voice tracked from Columbus, including thier mornig show which is the previous day's morning show on The Fibber. Maybe they hired someone just so they could fire 'em for Christmas.

They still had a sales staff and a few others in Zanesville but you are right everything was voicetracked.

local must not include programming currently... everything is voicetracked out of columbus including mornings and drive (which used to be local in zanesville) best wishes to WCVZ.

CVCO's claim that they are going to staff CVZ locally is their typical spin. The plan is to have nothing in place but a transmitter. "Local stuff' means that their voice trackers will be making monthly trips to Zanesville and the surrounding area to make appearances at fairs, festivals, and such and trying to make people think that they're local. Maybe the plan is to hire a local person to dust the window sills in the transmitter room once a week. The focus is all on building their network. It seems this once noble organization has lost their center.

1240 WHIZ Zanesville Adult Contemporary

Last year during the summer I recall tuning in to WHIZ while in eastern Ohio, and they were playing nostalgia. Did they suddenly change format?

???

There is nothing local about 92.7 anymore. They got rid of there last LIVE jock, the morning show guy in Nov of 05. They got rid of one of their local sales guys in Dec of 05.

Both 92.7 and 95.1 out of Mt. Gilead (WVXG-one of the old Xavier translators) are simulcasts. 1049 in Columbus is still live, but the Morning Show now is VT'd also along with the rest of the station.
