Zito and Karen on WODS: A waste of airtime

Just caught a few minutes (at about 8:40 am) of Zito and Karen. What a horrid horrid waste of airtime. "Blake's Buzz"?? You've GOT to be kidding me. I thought "Zito and Jen" had been reincarnated from WXLO. A few weeks into their new show and this is the best they could come up with?? The only thing missing was Sully laughing in the background. Maybe they could bring back Bob Lobel and he could laugh in the background.

I enjoyed Karen while she was hosting solo (I think we all agreed Lobel was a waste of space) but what I heard this morning was awful.

I can't believe June Knight and Mike Finnegan were sacrificed for that.
 
I actualy enjoy Zito and Karen in the morning ;D I think they are funny and work good together. Blake's Buzz actually gives the show some life I think. When Matty is on commercial, I tune into Zito and Karen just to hear them. They really have something here!

I have listened to them alittle over the past couple of weeks. I actually think they sound good together. If you really listen to other morning shows...what do they talk about? general news (local/national) entertainment... maybe things going on in their lives...isn't that what Matty and Billy do - and all the other shows? I do agree it shouldn't be a rerun of Worcester. I too, liked Karen on solo but you knew that she would probably get paired up with someone.

I am not sure your assumption of CBS dumping June and Mike for them is correct. It seems CBS is cutting everywhere. Maybe if you listened to them for more than "a few minutes" you might have a different opinion.

Hey, at least CBS is trying to shake things up around here. Adding new morning shows on Oldies and WBCN is the step in the right direction. I've heard Zito and Karen a few times and it sounds like they've clicked pretty well.

If you want to keep sleeping in the morning, maybe you should set your alarm clock radio to Lander, Loren and Wally, Matty and Billy, Hillman, Imus, D&C or Finneran.

Can't stand Lander, can't stand Matty, can't stand Hillman, can't stand Imus, don't listen to sports talk radio, don't listen to regular talk radio except very occasionally Graham or Severin on TKK.

Like Loren and Wally but not the 24/7 Christmas music.

I'm sticking with The Pike for now. ;D
 
DJbobo - Matty & Billy suck suddenly??? It's your opinion so it's valid. But PLEASE understand that the masses (including myself) whole-heartedly disagree with you there. They are legendary, still valid, and drive that station.
 
I really don't listen - I tune in more when Barry is on Sunday nights - but I do know this June was a waste of time, totally, I found her boring, with no personality of her own, it was almost weird. It is what it is now Karen and Zito - hey give them a chance. Dale was not well, and honestly without Dale - it was dumed. I get the Jimmy thing - he is a hoot, and also feel badly about Mike F at night. But as far as June goes - no love lost here. Most end up somewhere else in Boston - she probably won't.

Those that can...do! Those who can't...complain on blogs? :p You never did respond to the challenge of what would you do at ODS in the morning! Your list of "I can't stands..." is rather sad...get yerself an ipod and go sit in the corner as I suspect you have a rather narrow view of what is good radio.
 
I think Zito and Karen Blake sound great together. It does seem, based on the material that I've heard, that they are targeting women. Maybe around 45-50 years of age.
 
I tuned in during the holidays when they were playing Christmas music and didn't mind them. I liked Zito and Jen on XLO he's easy to listen to for me. Karen has been in Boston radio for years I remember her on WZOU (94.5) before JAMN.

I am a regular Matty in the Morning listen love the show, but when he's on commercial I bop.
