Zoellner Media in Tulsa (KRMG, KWEN, KRAV, KJSR) Not Subscribing to Nielsen?

A medical doctor and businessman, Dr. Robert Zoellner, bought the Cox cluster of stations in Tulsa, earlier this year. They include some of Tulsa's top statons: News/Talk KRMG-AM-FM, Country KWEN, Classic Rock KJSR and Hot AC KRAV. All five stations are now missing from the Nielsen lists.

Back to the original theme. One can only guess that Zoellner did the math and national buys didn't cover the Neilson expense. IIRC (its been over 30 years) they will still show up in rating editions the agencies get but the local sales representatives can't "use" their ratings on local clients they call on.

Well that sucks I got chosen to survey for the winter book. I added them to my Nielsen diary.

You're supposed to write down what you listen to regardless of whether they're participants. The agencies and buyers who purchase the book still get to see their numbers. The embargoes are dumb because only the public doesn't get to see the numbers of nonsubscribers, though the current policy is better than the old one that would've embargoed the entire market.
