I listen to a wide variety ranging from Jazz, Classical, Pop/Rock/Oldies as well as Talk radio so I can't say I hang on one particular station for extended periods, but CBS-FM has a place for enjoyment.
Today was quite interesting on CBS. I had been away all week-end and hadn't been listening so it was a pleasant surprise. They played ALL dance songs. "The Twist", "Mashed Potato", "The Hustle", "Wooley Bully", YMCA (dumb a**), you get the picture. My absolute favorite was a song that I have NEVER, EVER heard on the radio. Are you ready? drum roll, please.... . "The Electric Slide" lol It was awesome and Bob Shannon made a point to say in the intro to it, that it has rarely been played on the radio anywhere, somehow it went automatically to weddings. I loved hearing it, I gotta tell you. Okay , now for what I consider more good news for us die-hards. This Thursday will feature music from the 50's and 60's ALL female groups. The Shangri-las (my favorite), The Shirelles, Dixie Cups, The Angels,Supremes (duh), etc. So I guess this is the programming "hook" we've been waiting for. A way to weave the 50's and early 60's into the tapestry. I can live with it and I can see that CBS is really trying to please us all.
