Audacy and Cumulus

Radioinsight also mentioned Latino Media Network (aka the stations once owned by TelevisaUnivision) but I would be surpising if TU looks at this potential 3 way merger including several podcast outlets.

It would be super ironic for the following reason: Audacy owns at least one of the former NBC O&O's (e.g., WMAQ, Chicago), most of the former CBS O&O's, and, if they were to "merge" with Cumulus, then most of the former ABC O&O's would also be under the same roof.

As said above: No.

The same irony that iHeart once had its NYC studios in the building that also once housed WEAF in the 1920s. The footings to the antenna are still on the top of the building. But it was a long time ago. Same with those O&Os, especially NBC, given they were sold 35 years ago. ABC Radio was sold 20 years ago. Cumulus owned KNBR was bought by NBC in 1933 and was once the home of NBC's west coast office. So yes, lots of ancient history but no one there remembers.

And I'll bet also that no one remembers, let alone, cares, that two of the finest broadcast groups of the 20th century were Group W - Westinghouse Broadcasting and CapCities-ABC.

Mix 104.1 might get sold if a merger actually happened. The odds are very low though
Boston, Worcester, Springfield and Providence are all separate markets and wouldn't require sales or spin-offs as the article pointed out. Technically, New England would become quite the powerhouse of a region for that imaginary company... although let's be real, would likely regionalized all departments for all stations. They would run out of ink before they finished printing out pink slips.

I don’t think the merge is even happening
