What are Clark & Davis doing these days?

Charles Davis works for FOX Sports. You can catch him during the football season as a color commentator for the NFL broadcasts as well as some colleges on the regional FSN networks.

Pat Clark did Mon-Fri sports on WESH/Channel 2 for a few years, but has been doing weekends on TV2 for the past what, 3-4 years? I think he told Jim Phillips the weekday sports report wasn't worth the effort, at least they give him 3 minutes on Sat and Sun, and he also loves doing the UCF Coaches show with fellow Irish Gent ... the coach of UCF, whatever his name is.

Hold on there Stormy, Charles Davis went from that hellhole to become one of the finest,
most respected football play by play, or color guys, i have ever worked with or met.
He is rare, a gentleman, kind soul, and respected because , off the air, he will laugh as hard
as anyone about the bad times, no negative words. I worked with him on air ( no, this isn't Pat)
and just shook his hand last week, as he was in town for the NFL Network, for an event we were
both working. After 10 mins of laughing about our time shared, he took his prep and his seat. i took my prep and my seat, and thought if more people in radio were like " CD" it wouldn't be the mess it has become. And i am an expert on Charles, we did our first radio together when he played
for UT, and was a regular on my show, in Knoxville in 1985. Somehow we have intertwined for 25 years, so be kind, there aren't many good people left.

I believe that The Sunshine Network was underwriting the Clarke and Davis program on 740 as both men worked television for Sunshine. When Sunshine merged with Fox Sports, the radio show was canned, and both guys lost their TV gigs. Charles Davis has become a highly
visible and well-respected football analyst, and Pat Clarke is doing weekends on WESH Channel 2.
The show that followed Clarke and Davis was funded by the Orlando Sentinel. So the only program CC was paying for was the afternoon show with Jerry O'Neil and the Shot Doctor, and I believe that Mr. O'Neil was the primary salesperson for the show.

It's ok Stormy, it's ok to blame beer. i blame beer for my first 2 kids . Milli Vanilli blamed it on the Rain, and President Obama recently blamed George Bush for the Pittsburgh Pirates finishing in last place 17 years in a row. Of course he also blamed George for the Detriot Lions, Jessie James cheating on Sandra Bullock, Miley Cyrus already being a slut, Lindsey Lohan's drinking problem, The Crushing break up of the 90's boy bands, Lou Pearlman taking the fall for him, The TV show "Jersey Shore" Jose Canseco's shrunken balls, George Stienbrenner not dying a long time ago, Michelle Obama's very distracting under bite, Paris Hilton's pot smoking, and how she even became a celebrity, so see, no need to apologize

Their final episode was hilarious with all the callers and e-mailers saying how glad they were that the show was cancelled, and Davis having a meltdown on-air at the 8:20 segment, sarcastically telling the listeners how "grateful" he was for their well wishes.

I just remember no one having any kind words to say about either guy when I joined CC Maitland two years later, and even fewer people liking them when I switched over to the Magic Radio Network.

Well i speak for charles, he is a comrade, good man, in wrong place, at the wrong time. he is where is belongs now, and it was great seeing him 2 weeks ago. I did my thing, he did his. Now Pat? well, it's his job to be direct and appear an ass. You sit down with him, over a few beers, you wont meet a better guy to do it with. Now if you joined the CC building, and you heard terrible things, thats just part of the deal. They say horrible things about anyone who has passed through, heck, or even works there now! They trash Sileo, who in my opinion is one of the best. The Pope could conduct sunday mass from 540, 740 and Rumba, and the sales people would be screaming they couldn't sell it. In Maitland, always read "between the lines"

What I remember most was that their own producer was too lazy to produce any new spots for them, so 740 kept running the same bit where they laughed about a guy falling out of a window while trying to put on his pants.

Two things: 1) They were laughing about a man dying, and 2) the bit had nothing to do with sports. It's a sports show, but the main commercial they ran was not sports related at all.

Or, as Tom Bigby calls it, a recipe for success in sports-talk radio. :D
