WAPT's Meagan Quigley is gone...

replaced by a new female meterologist, Britney Bell. Bell has even taken the spot on the talent intro. Did Quigley join up with all the other ex-APTers at Brad McMullan's Buy From a Christian??

What other former WAPT employees work for Brad McMullan's bfac.com business?

Meagan Quigley last appeared on-air for WAPT on Sunday, June 9th. On the 6/7 morning news, Megan West announced that Meagan Quigley would be leaving the WAPT family after the weekend (6/9). Meagan Quigley said at the time she did not have another job lined up and implied (or at least I interpreted as) that she was just burned out. I have no idea if she is still living in the area. I think she was originally from PA, so she may have moved back there.

Brittany Bell started this past weekend. If first impressions are a good indicator, I think she's a perfect fit for (in my opinion) Jackson's best news team.

On a side note, Brittany Bell came to WAPT from fellow Hearst Television station and ABC-affiliate, KHBS in Fort Smith, Arkansas. That's of note because the KHBS digital subchannel is The CW. If Hearst puts The CW on their ABC-affiliated station in NW Arkansas, maybe they will do that here. (Just a thought - I personally never watched and thus do not miss The CW.)

Megan was from Michigan and she is still in Jackson, working, at least part-time for Edward St. Pe's WeatherVision.

You are right about WAPT having Jackson's best news team and presentation. I believe it is the only station in Jackson whose overall package would have a chance at making it somewhere like Atlanta or Dallas.

They use conversational delivery and have eliminated a lot of the old ways of doing things that are not testing well anywhere anymore.

WLBT is number one, true. The station is surviving in that spot due to some pretty strong loyalty, cultivated over many decades. When that runs out, their presentation will likely find itself without the large base of viewers it once had. The station could stand a set of fresh faces, with all due respect to the experience that some of the old schoolers bring.

And bringing in Keegan Foxx at the end of the year was a major coo for WAPT. Now if WAPT would sign ex-FOx 40 morning news anchor Laura Britt, they would be that much better than the old news personnel on WLBT and WJTV. I saw Laura doing a local car ad that is airing around 5:30 a.m. on WAPT. ;D

She is now Laura Williams.

In other WAPT news, the now former WAPT reporter (and before that, WLBT) (and Jackson metro area native), Meg Pace began work on 8/12 at Jacksonville's First Coast News (apparently this is similar to the MSNewsNow of WLBT and WDBD in that they are the news team for both the ABC and NBC affiliates of that area.) Her last day at WAPT looks to have been around 8/8. I am not sure who her replacement is, but they have HUGE shoes to fill. Mike Perchick just started this month as part of the Blitz 16 team, but WAPT does not typically have 3 sports reporters, so he may do other news reporting as well.

As far as I was told both Kathryn Kight and Heather Sophia went to work for Brad. There may be others as well.

I was flipping through the channels yesterday morning and found Heather Sophia back at WCBI in Columbus, MS doing morning weather.

I noticed her too. Has to be a story there. Her bio on the website mentions a boyfriend. Guess she ended up divorced and went back to her old station.
