sorry, but which page are these instructions found?

Quoting from last post from closed thread:

"There is now a style selection option for the forums. Down at the very bottom of the page on the left side, you'll see an option for style selection. Please try "default style" option. The color scheme changes to something pretty similar to what you are used to here.

Thanks for hanging with us during the transition. We look forward to continued participation from all of you. Please let us know if you have any further problems at [email protected], or post at Ask Radio Discussions.

I'll close this thread so members can get back to Engineering talk here. "

Just noticed a little green ball on this thread. Says I'm subcribed to this now. Wonder if that's the replacement for the "Show replys..." button?
I'll go mow the lawn and do other things and check back in this evening.

This has to be a challenging time for those involved in converting to this new platform. I don't like what I see up to this point, but it's still early.

I'd like to see more information from the RD management about the reasons for the change. It may be on here and I missed it. What I remember was that profiles needed to be updated in preparation for moving to a new platform. I don't remember seeing reasons why the platform change was needed.

I should add that I have the attention span of a flea, and a retention rate not much higher than the canine world's least favored companion.

Hopefully, this site will be able to regain most of the functionality that was available on the old platform.

They told me via email that the style selection wasn't going to happen. I urged them to change the color scheme. This will seriously affect how often I visit.

Eye fatigue on the color choices is about a +20 on the old "can't-hack-it-o-meter" Looks like those home-brew Linux sites that were built by 15 yr olds jacked up on Jolt Cola. (not to mention that password retrieval, "remember me" and the other uh...features that are as rambunctious as roadkill)

Also gave up on getting my original login to work.

I told them that white on black was old design. Everyone uses light backgrounds with dark text now... There is a reason the E Ink Kindle exists... White Background, Dark Text, Easy On The Eyes.

We are very aware of some members' concern with the color scheme and are exploring solutions. Thanks for your patience!

Not always true!!! Black text on a white background hurts my eyes! I have my PC set for high contrast mode, which makes it white text on black background.

I'll chime in and say that I wear progressive lenses and reading posts here is difficult. I it is to remain black text-white background, give us a choice of font sizes and the ability to switch to a different type face. Arial-12 would be ideal.

This color scheme reminds me of MySpace, back when users had complete freedom to use any color scheme they wanted... no matter how badly the text color clashed with the background color.

One of my favorite sayings is "We improve things by making them worse". Very true here.

That broadcast engineering site referenced above is good. I go there too.

Unfortunately the Microsoft mentality is everywhere - change every feature that it is technically possible to change. Here, this may be mostly due to the current version of the vBulletin software.

If using Firefox, the free Add-on (Extension) "NoSquint" will allow easily changing the background and text colors, zoom levels, etc. on a per-site basis.

This difficult and unfriendly upgrade will probably kill off the whole board similar to what happened at a different radio board a few years ago. Who remembers that? Now when I open RadioDiscussions my computer gets hijacked for long periods downloading all the graphics or reaching out to different sites for Tweets and Likes and other sizzle that slow things to a crawl, don't interest me, and tries
my patience until I give up and head somewhere else that doesn't torture me.

They keep talking about a style selection box at lower left. Mine shows up at lower RIGHT. Furthermore, the option they're telling me to select ("Default") doesn't exist. There's only Radio Discussions Theme and Radio Discussions Mobile Theme.

Frustrating. I hate this. It's REALLY hard on the eyes.
