Man, would you looka that. We expect WSB to be news-heavy as it always has been (and likewise WAGA, being a FOX O&O), but an NBC affil in a Top 10 market only airing a half-hour news at 6 (if you don't count Brenda Wood's program at 7, which is, I think, soft features and not hard news), going up against three competing newscasts at 5 with Dr. Phil reruns (or is the 3 p.m. showing the rerun, a la "Jeopardy!"?)? Looks like Gannett is giving up on WXIA to me! For all the talk about WGCL owner Meredith being one of the lowlifes of media companies out there, Gannett sure is trying to top 46 in terms of sorryness--I'll bet CBS Atlanta may be in third place above WXIA at some dayparts, something thought an impossibility until just recently. If I were an NBC exec at 30 Rock, I'd look into buying 11 Alive outright and making it an O&O--hell, NBC once had Birmingham's WVTM for a spell in the Nineties and Oughts.

Gannett is getting WCNC in Charlotte as part of the Belo acquisition. They better get them HD!

Gannett has shown their "don't give a damn" attitude about WXIA indeed. It suppose to be one of their top market ranking stations but treats it as if it is in the middle of nowhere. Embarrassing to see a top-10 market NBC affiliate air "The Andy Griffith Show" during the weekdays at 12:30 instead of an additional half-hour of news. SMDH

NBCU/Comcast does need to acquire this station considering it is also home to their Atlanta news bureau for NBC News as well...

Bethenny will air on WAGA at 11 AM starting next Monday. I think all the Fox o&os
will be carrying her show.
Not WJZY. WCCB has it here. I
imagine they already had the rights bought before the Fox purchase of WJZY was announced.

I can confirm WBTV is moving Let's Make a Deal to 10:00 beginning September 16. Queen Latifah will air at 3. Rachael Ray moves to 9 on WJZY.

Looking at the weekend WJZY schedule for September 14 and 15, they need to go easy on Cash Cab. Overkill.

That makes at least four stations in this part of the country that are moving "Let's Make A Deal"
to 10 AM. The others are WNCT/9 Greenville/New Bern/Washington; WILM/10 Wilmington; and
WLTX/19 Columbia. The last three are making the move next Monday. Does anybody in Georgia
know what WMAZ plans to do?

Frankly, I don't know why CBS doesn't feed "LMAD" one time--10 AM--and let all the affiliates have
3 PM, as ABC and NBC do. It's a perfect fit with "The Price Is Right" and actually does better in the
morning markets than in the afternoon ones.

That would leave WRAL as the only NC CBS station still airing it at 3.

WSPA actually airs it at 9 am. They recently switched it with Dr Phil. Why can't their local "Your Carolina" show be on at 9 so LMAD could be at 10?

And only one other CBS station in the Carolinas--WCSC Charleston--still
airs it at 3.

I wonder myself why WSPA carries "LMAD" at 9; WTKR Norfolk does the
same thing. "Your Carolina" would seem to be a better lead-out from
"CBS This Morning" and, as I pointed out, "LMAD" and "TPIR" make a
strong combination where they air in tandem.

Exactly!

WCSC has also moved "LMAD" to 10 AM, so WRAL is the only station
in the Carolinas still airing it at 3. In Georgia, it's still on WTOC/11 Savannah,
WMAZ/13 Macon, and (I believe) WSWG/43 Albany at 3.
