Titantv.com

Why are there so many listings on TitanTV.com that are in-accurate?

Examples: The listings for 24.3/49.3/53.3/65.3 in the Hartford/New Haven Market still show the program listings for Create TV. Connecticut Public Television as those 4 channels are known as hasn't been affiliated with Create TV in 18 months! The .3 Sub Channel has been CPTV Sports since 18 months ago.

Also The listings for COMCAST in Bristol, Connecticut still shows WFSB (3) on Channel 2. WFSB hasn't been on Channel 2 on Comcast in more than 4 years!

And for COX Meriden the listings still show WPIX listed for Channel 22. COX Meriden hasn't carried WPIX more than 13 months. CSPAN is still listed for Channel 21. Channel 21 hasn't been CSPAN for several months.

For Springfield/Holyoke the callsign for LPTV Channel 34 is listed as WCCT-LP. Channel 34 has never been WCCT-LP. Their call sign is WTXX-LP. They took on that call sign after WTXX Channel 20 in Waterbury/Hartford became WCCT-TV.

I've been a user of TitanTV for several years now and have noticed it sometimes takes them months to catch up with reassignments and new services. They also, at times, cannot seem to get the local time zones correct.

I like their service and the price is right.

Zap2it's listings are most accurate.

I like Zap2it's listings the best. It goes two weeks in advance and because of that, I can figure out when the new 2013-14 syndi shows are airing this year and what stations. In Seattle, OK! TV is airing at 6:30 in the morning on KONG - never figured that out until finding out on zap2it.

To a point.

In the Fort Myers/Naples market, Zap2it still lists WEVU (and its repeater WBSP). They are no longer listed in the FCC files (their licenses were returned). Not only that, the listing for WBSP is the listing for cable-only "WNFM" MyTV 8. WEVU used to air on cable channel 8 (now "WNFM" MyTV 8) before the station owners signed a deal with DirecTV (and later with DISH Network) to carry the channel.

TitanTV goes two weeks in advance too, in theory. I like it because you can put together a custom lineup that has no relation to any actual lineup anywhere. I'm weird like that.

Here in Charlotte it will air at 6 am on WAXN. Go figure.

When I moved and set up Comcast cable, I found the TitanTV listings were off-kilter. I sent them an email and within a week, my listings were (mostly) accurate. And I am in a sub-120 media market, not exactly a high-profile location. Two years later, most items are still correct, though that pesky east-coast-feed-vs-west-coast-feed issue pops up with a few channels (ie fuse). Then again, I can't complain much about TitanTV. The Comcast on-screen program guide still has a few channels listed incorrectly......

I like TitanTV mostly due to its minimal advertising. zap2it is just too annoying.

It's odd that TitanTV would have these problems, since they also provide the online listings on so many TV station websites.

When I went to the titantv.com website to see the Chicago listings for OTA, there were some inaccuracies for that too. WTTW for example, titan tv doesn't have world listed for 11.3, since WTTW decided to pick up the World Channel, & air that at night, while Create continues to be shown, but now only during the daytime. WOCK-CD 13.5 is not known if the schedule listed is for Soul of the South, or something else. WOCK-CD dropped Mega TV first from 13.1 when they picked up MundoFox, then from 13.5 as well.

WSNS is another one that's wrong. They dropped SOI TV, & only have 44.1 (Telemundo) & 44.2 (Éxitos TV).

WYIN is one that they've had wrong for 7 years now. They dropped Create back in 2006, due to cost, & not sure if it was originally 56.2, or 56.4, because they only had 2 channels at that time. 56.3 is correct with a 24 hour children's channel, but 56.2 & 56.4 were simulcasts from the main channel, & for now, have been shut off. WYIN hasn't been able to get other channels launched, partially because they want each channel to generate revenue, & they're also waiting for the Indiana Channel to be on 24/7, so they can dedicate a channel for that.

WGBO-DT no longer has the simulcast on 66.2, which was actually the virtual channel from WXFT, when they simulcasted each other's station, when the other went off the air.

In the upcoming months, This TV will move to WGN-TV on 9.3, & titantv.com won't have that accurate either when This TV is dropped from WCIU 26.5 (I hear This TV will switch to WGN-TV in November)

It is very likely the mistakes in the channel listings are the fault of the television stations -- TitanTV has to get its information from somewhere, and that is usually the station's programming department.

With all that was wrong with TitanTV.com they had 26.5 listed as QVC which is correct. I'm surprised they had it because this was a recent addition to the .5 sub channel of all the ION owned stations.

I'm surprised the listing is correct for my local ION station as well. Unfortunately, my mom's been watching it a lot lately.

I don't know about other stations around the country, but in Chicago, the stations that list their programming on their own websites, list what broadcasts on their main channel, & subchannels. In the case of WYIN, it's not WYIN's fault that TitanTV.com is listing Create as 56.2 & the simulcast of 56.1 on 56.4 (that's titantv.com's fault right there, since WYIN list their programming correct on their website). While off-topic about WYIN, but when they decided to shut off their simulcasts, they decided to end their dual 720p HD as well, & make the main channel 1080i, though they might go back to 720p in the future, should the Indiana Channel ever gets running 24/7 (they're incorporating the programming into the main channel's schedule for now).
