Peak - Frresno sold to Cumulus

Since Townsquare pretty well owned Peak after its bankruptcy, this has been expected for quite some time. Of course, the second part of the deal, sending Fresno to Cumulus, wasn't predicted, and I'm thinking Townsquare let it go for too little.

From the Townsquare release:

"Townsquare will exchange certain assets including 5 radio stations, in Fresno it is acquiring from Peak, for Cumulus assets including 15 radio stations in two markets (Dubuque, IA and Poughkeepsie, NY) and a de minimis cash settle-up payment in favor of Townsquare. In total, Townsquare will be acquiring 68 stations from Cumulus, three of which will be assigned to a divestiture trust, and eleven Peak stations, five of which will be exchanged to Cumulus."

Peak has 5 stations in Fresno so that says all are going to Cumulus.

That's where I believe she belonged from the start. JB would do the show better alone. In fact I would shorted the Chris Daniel show to three hours. Four hours is just too long.

I know it's crazy, but how about the return of music on 105.9, perhaps some kind of Rock format, maybe a replacement of KRZR. Cumulus does own KFOG 104.5 (AAA) and KSAN 107.7 (The Bone/Rock) in San Francisco.

That's a good idea too! I miss Jack. That was pretty good.

Applecracker was giving his on air kiss-a** spiel the other day: "don't worry, my minions, everything is fine. This company doesn't blow up stations that have great ratings like we do."
Ohhhh? As in K-G-Ohh?

I meant to mention they keep Jen's show in the morning and Rock music the rest of the day, with a 0.7 in the ratings maybe it's time for a change, Notice that neither KFRR or KKBZ has never had the ratings that the former KRZR had, KRZR were always above them, even JACK was higher. KFRR had a 1.5 this last time, of course this is 2013 and active rock may not work anymore, but it's worth a try, still works in Modesto on 96.7.

Im surprised KFRR hasn't went more Active Rock since KRZR died. Not saying they can't play anything (black keys, mumford and sons, Fun, whatever) but play the metal that was lost as well. That's pretty much what KRZR did in their heyday, heck the played the damned Cranberries! Can't remember if they played chumbawamba or not. Just play the best rock music you can find and fill in with older stuff, stop caring if it's "alt".

How would KRZR (old Chris and E's KRZR) have handled "Get Lucky"?

As far as KMJ goes they must keep the FM, AM is dying. In reality KMJ FM doesn't have a .7 it's just that most people listening to it will tell you they have been listening to KMJ. So if those people fill out a diary KMJ (AM) gets the credit, not KMJ-FM, heck I would bet Appleton has gotten a few numbers that should have gone to Ramsey.

Sans Modesto, active rock is still alive and well in several markets (KUPD,KOMP,KILO),but of coarse this is the NO.

Hello Red Eye Radio! (I'm really going to miss Overnight America)
Hello John Batchelor! Yup. John Freakin' Batchelor.

Hope he gets canceled for Savage.

Also if my name was not Chris Daniel or Ray Appleton and I worked at KMJ I would start worrying.

Not that it matters, but how long before top of the hour news comes from ABC?
