Does Bruce Morrow ever shut up

Obviously you have never listened to Cousin Brucie before. This has been his way since day 1 over 50 years ago.

Honest to God does he ever shut up? His microphone needs a sleep timer.

I remember him from WABC, he was really good there. He kept things moving. I agree he needs to reign the talk in. Maybe talk a little less about himself and more about the music. I'm sure he's got some interesting stories to tell, I'm just not hearing them.

He acquired the moniker "Cousin Brucie" after he made a difference in somebody's life and she said, "Thank you, cousin". He didn't put it that way, as in "making a difference in somebody's life", but that is what it amounted to. He is somebody who makes a difference, as we all should strive to do from time to time.

God, I hope not. He's one of the few real radio personalities left. And back in the day, he was one of the best. He plays music but people listened to him.

The problem is those PDs who paid attention to comments like Ben's and used them as an excuse to purge personalities from radio, get more control, save a few bucks, run commercials back to back and drive away listeners.

They did that to a precious disc jockey known as The Flying Dutchman. For those who don't get it, perhaps we can play a friendly game of Brooklyn style stoop ball and reason it out.

When I had Sirius/XM I listened to the 60's channel all the time but when Cousin Brucie came on I turned to another channel. He does run his mouth too MUCH and never say's anything really. Could not stand it! I remember back in his WABC days he was not that bad, but of course he had a format to follow. I think with his satellite show he has a format, HIS OWN!

I wonder if someone said something to him about all this. I heard him last week and thought he said some interesting things about the music he's playing and he kept things moving too. If so I hope it continues!

Precious? I remember the Dutchman from the mid-'70s on WNDR Syracuse. Funny guy, but precious?

Two Things:

1) Listen to his words.... you will never hear such overuse of the words I and Me ANYWHERE else.

2) Most of his anecdotes about the record are wrong, made up, or have never been told by anyone else. At this stage of the game, we all know the "Behind The Hits" back stories, and none of them sound like anything Bruce tells.

When he talks about almost any current events, electronics or almost anything else, what he says doesn't make sense. Its almost like he is on top 40 AM Jock motormouth autopilot. Since there are no commercials, weather breaks, top of the hour news or the like, he feels he must fill all of those minutes with his mindless blabber.

We listen to Sirius to hear the music lovingly wrapped and presented in the tissue paper of a live Jock. On his show the music is buried below his endless, mindless, continuous irrelevant blabber.

Listen carefully to all he speaks and you will have to agree.

I'm pretty sure there is no currently active jock of 60's era who was as directly involved in the music and with the artists as Cousin Brucie. Most of his stories are not retells of stuff from other sources but things he actually lived himself... or stories the artists have told, many right on his show.

I was going to say something similar earlier, but your post says it much better.
