What happened to Bob and Tom?

Some laid-back dude on the air this morning, no mention of bob and tom. I couldn't find any reference to them on the krxo website either. Oh well, I wasn't impressed with bob and tom anyway. I wonder if the laid-back dude is voice-tracked just like the rest of Oklahoma City radio is.

Stick a naked guy in a crate full of snapping turtles for an hour every morning and krxo will have my undivided attention.

The toe has spoken.

Ratings for B and T were down, and the station suffered from not having their audience stick around for the classic rock afterwards. Personally I'd see them as a better fit for mornings on their 92.9 / 1560 comedy channel. With B & T in the morning and the rest of their line-up, it might start to get some ratings and attention. Oh well...

Well, it looks like 96.9 will be the new address for Bob and Tom. In some ways this makes a lot of sense. In some ways it is a very odd marriage.... Radio is such a strange chain of events and ironies at times.

Since I heard Bob & Tom left KRXO after it moved to HD2 and 104.5, I've been listening to them even more. I'm sure they're happy to know a listener 6 1/2 to 7 hours away that they can't monetize likes their station better now!

Of course, their player still advertises Bob & Tom and even opens with a 15-30 second ad for their morning show. Doesn't sound like smart business for me. It'll be interesting to see if that commercial's still running during the work week!

Wow... There seems to be a lot of disconnect in the N. Britton Rd. operation these days. They didn't register their domain name for their branding. They didn't have their streaming up, let alone apps for their new sports station on launch. IDs were goofed up (haven't listened lately to see if that's changed), several things on their web site stayed 107.7-centric after the flip for a while, and it seems no one has noticed that they are advertising their competitor's morning show. I wish no ill will to any of the parties involved, but it seems to me they need to pay a little more attention to the details. Sometimes it's the details and execution, not the "good ideas" that make something successful. I have no dog in this fight, but I assure you I'd be more attentive on many of these issues if I were involved.
