Longhorn Network syndication

So I'm flipping the channel tonight and find the Texas - Ole Miss game with Longhorn Network graphics on a local station here in the Mobile, AL TV market. I checked the real Longhorn Network and it wasn't blacked out. Is UT giving away syndication rights in distant markets? I don't believe I've ever seen a game on a local TV station that wasn't blacked out on a RSN.

Not unusual with games offered by Longhorn to have syndication in the compeitor's market so they can actually watch it too...it's already happened a couple of other times, most notably with their Big 12 game against Iowa State last year that aired on Longhorn being offered through the state of Iowa via syndication to most of the state's ABC affiliates, and KETV in Omaha to cover the Council Bluffs side of the state. Like the Iowa State example, the Ole Miss special feed probably had a different announce team too.

Also take note that ESPN Goal Line NEVER airs parts of UT games on LN in the same Whiparound fashion as games on the other ESPN syndicated channels it maintains which INCLUDES the SEC Network & Big East Network (They do show updates of the game as if it was on CBS or FOX though)

Odd yet interesting.....

Cheers & 73 :)

Even people in Texas can't even get the Bevo channel

Despite what the knuckleheads at ESPN think, not everyone in Texas is a Longhorns fan.

Texas A&M gets far more buzz these days. Most of the UT discussion on SportsTalk radio involves who the next head coach will be.

This is what happens when you have New York suits playing Cowboys & Indians :D LOL

Well considering they came back & nearly beat #1 Alabama, they SHOULD get all the buzz

Honestly I doubt he'll last the season IMO.....

What is that channel. The KU Game was on CBS Sports Network this week know next week back to Metro Sports in the future TWC Sports Channel.

I'm thinking that was a joke still referring to Longhorn Network, as 'Bevo' is the name of Texas' mascot.
(I hope the taco making part was a joke at least. Watching LN promos during the same telecast on My35 WFGX, it appears that Texas head coach Mack Brown is involved in shows other than a traditional coach's show. Yowza if this season tanks so hard that he gets the boot...)
