Mami Chula Out at Power 96-1

Why would they fire her...she's the hardest working person in radio. If I'm not mistaken, she's on Power 96-1 seven days a week.
She was fired from POWER 96.1, however I Don't know the reason why.
My guess and it's pure supposition is maybe she wasn't a good fit for a pure play top 40 station in the minds of management? Plus, they stuck her in the odd time slot of 10 a.m. to noon.

So Power 96.1 moved Maddox to Mami Chula's 10am-12pm slot and replaced Maddox with Nessa (7pm-12am) who voicetracks out of WiLD 94.9 in San Francisco. I don't get it? Why dump live and local at night??? And here's something else that is strange. They hired Terry J (live & local) for the 2-5am shift.
I agree with you, RadioFreak. Evenings are an important daypart for Power 96-1, and Maddox is great at interacting with listeners. He is a youth-oriented personality and has been sounding really good. It would seem 10-noon would be a better slot for voice tracking. I wonder if Nessa is permanent although I see she is on the website.
