87.7 Cleveland's Sound has pulled the plug on the longtime show. The station, according to Scene, wanted to go in a different direction with presenting local music. Given all the changes taken place at the station, it's not surprising to see people and shows leave.

In the past 2 days, I've heard Maroon 5 and OneRepublic on 87.7, very weird additions to an already all over the place station. Is it just some added variety or could they be moving toward Modern AC?
If they were to move towards Modern AC, they would have to change up their playlist again. That would mean ditch the classic rock and focus more on the alternative element. Though they shouldn't overplay several songs as they have been doing so many times.
I would like to see someone other than Archie host the morning show. It's pitiful to see so many changes at the station in only a year plus. 87.7 is becoming more of a joke every month.

87.7 is a temporary station, as it will disappear on January 2015 when TV analogue channel 6 goes bye-bye.
This is just a fun little hobby for the owners, in no way are they thinking long term growth/success because...well...it can't happen.
And Archie is buddies with the owner, thus he's untouchable (kinda like a lower level version of the Aaron Goldhammer/WKNR arrangement).

Agree 100%, actually a TV station being run as a radio station due to an FCC loophole, AKA a Franken-FM. A "legal pirate" of sorts. The owners had the bucks to invest in this little hobby. However I thought it was September 2015 when low power analog TV goes bye-bye.
However, I have a hunch they may end up on an HD radio subcarrier, and failing that, they will still stream online, and I'd figure in another 1.5 to 2 years or so, mobile Internet (via cell phone carriers) will allow more bandwidth for less money and many more people will be plugging their smart phones into their vehicle's sound system to listen to Internet radio.
However, with that all said, I like 87.7 cuz they do think outside the box and aren't a cookie cutter Clear Channel station. Yes, 87.7 may not be as "polished" as the other stations, and that in it's own way make them even more fun to listen to. I grew up in the 60's listening to the Cleveland area AM pirates of the day (WMHR, KAOS, WIKD, WBDJ, and others). Even worked at one, LOL.

You were right...it is September 2015. I had January on the brain due to other reasons.
Maybe that could give them enough time to consider options to keep the station on the air in some way. Best bet is online with chances of finding another frequency being slim to none. I think they will fight to remain on 87.7 no matter what. I say good luck.

There is no long term plan over there...it's a toy that in 23 months will be taken away from ownership by the FCC.
You ever notice every station Inter Sanctum has been on always winds up going through major upheaval when they have the show.
WENZ 107.9 goes from alt-rock to hip-hop/rap, show is cancelled.
WKRK 92.3 goes from alt-rock to sports, show moves.
WNWV 107.3 goes from AAA to Smooth AC, show is cancelled
WLFM 87.7 brings it in, cancels it, goes through DJs like most people goes through socks, constantly tinkers with their AAA/alt-rock format, and will go bye-bye in 2 years thanks to the FCC.
I'm sure that's due mainly to alt-rock and AAA being such fleeting formats that don't generate much $, but nonetheless, it makes airing "Inner Sanctum" almost like a kiss of death.
Not a knock on the show itself, or it's quality, but it is kinda weird what the show's homes over the years have gone through when you sit down an think about it.
I wish the FCC would make at lease 87.7 and 87.9 a frequency

Well, as long as Inner Sanctum and it's bad luck stay away from 99x, fine by me.
87.7 has just announced the show replacing Inner Sanctum:
A new program called "Sunday Nights with Chad Zumock," which is starting this Sunday.

If "Inner Sanctum" was actually 'in the wrong place at the wrong time", how did it last on major Cleveland radio for so many years?
What happened involves the circumstances of radio in 2013, including ratings and revenue. That being said, 99x would increase their visability and respectability within the Cleveland music community, many of whom are active listeners, by adding this established, award winning local program.

I would rather see Inner Sanctum on WMMS, where it can get as much of a wide audience as possible. 99X would not cover the area needed to expose local artists on the radio.
I agree that this "99X" won't cover much, since I have no idea what or where it even is. The only station I know of in Cleveland that could call itself something with "99" would be WGAR at 99.5.
And WMMS hasn't supported any music of consequence since the early 80's. When they started playing madonna and michael jackson and all of that kinda of garbage, they lost any respect they might have had. Then they pulled the garbage with howard stern when he went live here, and at that point I still feel they should have had their plug pulled permanently. I don't like stern, but what mms pulled is just not done. And they still have not been punished for it.
Every radio I have had since the mid-80's has not gone to that frequency. They do not exist to me.
Inner Sanctum is a great show, and should be on somewhere. WNCX would be a good home also. But they too have gone mostly corporate. So I guess that leaves college radio. WRUW has a BIG footprint, as big as most commercial stations.
And what is the deal with LP TV then? I have not heard anything about any significant changes to the LP TV rules, and see no reason that WLFM shouldn't stay on the air indefinitely.
