Jeff Brown leaves Entercom

Pete Sheppard didn't have kind words for Brown etc on a profanity-filled video posted to youtube (talking to someone at Barstool Sports). At the time Shep was in what he thought was a long-running slot at WUFC now he's, what, doing an hour for WCAP? He predicted WEEI-FM would be down to one local show, mostly ESPN, within a year.
Look for "Pete Sheppard Obliterates WEEI" on youtube.

More to the point, look for the "Pete Sheppard Obliterates Pete Sheppard" on a small, and then smaller, station near you. Bleeding in public just gets you the sympathy vote from folks who don't matter.

As Euripides cautioned, seemingly looking 2400 years into the future, "whom the gods would destroy, they first make angry." Now, Sheppard is commiting career suicide and some folks, who supposedly like Sheppard, think its a spectator sport for the sole reason that they don't like Entercom.

Regards,
TSB

This topic is, if you haven't yet noticed, about Jeff Brown, not an irrelevant, angry, egotistical has-been who is doing so well that he has to buy his own time to broadcast to WCAP's massive (NOT) audience.

D&C have completely eviscerated Brown this morning. Saying he's the sole reason for the station's demise, and that he forced out Meter, and fired just about everybody else.
Pretty great radio so far.

I mentioned the Shep video because it showed how dissatisfied he was, at least (though Brown at his new Cumulus job is prob making more than a bit what Shep is making now at WCAP)

>>Brown’s fate was sealed, we’re told, after an employee survey several months ago showed widespread dissatisfaction.

It says salespeople left, ratings didn't improve. In the meantime before a replacement is hired:
>>Entercom has retained Joel Hollander’s consulting firm to run the stations and help with the transition of power.

The PD (Graham) just got hired; no idea about him.

They did better with a strong RS team (I don't thing Brown was a factor). That ends in a few weeks.

The Sports Hub's "Toucher and Rich" program won the time slot again for the fifth straight three-month period, checking in with a 10.8 share. WEEI's "Dennis and Callahan" climbed to second with a 7.2, a big leap up from 6.0 and fifth in the spring. T&R had a 13.4 in the spring, when the Bruins made their run to the Stanley Cup Finals.
