Phil Zachary takes over Entercom Boston

Right, a spoof of Bush Derangement Syndrome, a nickname started by the Right to describe some of the Left's views; used here when people like me defended Howie, suggested WEEI should move to FM, criticized moves by Jason Wolfe (I nicknamed him Hokey Wolfe after a Hanna Barbera character; years ago the likes of the Herald's Jim Baker would do nicknames like "The Big Zero" for Ordway...wonder if he'll be back hmm!)

CBS Derangement Syndrome or something similar will be used for opinions about Brien, T&R's Pitino stunt, etc...

He handled the mountains of problems at WITS pretty well to get sent off to a front row seat to L. Joe Scallon and Mariner's destruction of The Big One in Cincinnati.

WITS had egos and wacked-out personalities like you wouldn't believe -- Ordway may have been the normal one in that bunch. Imagine the morning guy, Hudson, loved to gamble and had them hire the track announcer from Suffolk to do sports in order to get tips; Claflin was well-known in select and not-so-select saloons throughout the American League as well as in Boston's redoubtable Mac Talbot's; Keane was a misogynist who made Gerry Callahan look like a liberal (but he was a far, far better writer than Callahan, but then so is your average high school freshman); Dr. Joy Brown thought the entire staff was socially beneath her; Pat Whitley and Jerry Williams had conflicting egos; Martin and Woods wanted no part of management or the ad staff; Ordway once threatened to ruin Sarandis' career for doing a voicer for NBC on the Sox Yankees 1978 pennant race; the afternoon newsperson who came from and went back to Maine in short order actually said on Pope JP I's death "We've lost another pope" and on Nelson Rockefeller's death "Happy isn't very happy any more," the late shift for a while was an advice line (think Bruce Williams Ultralite)hosted by a guy Scallon hired because he liked his English accent; Syatt's show was produced by his wife who had no idea what she was doing and they introduced hockey with a mainstream country music jingle at a time when mainstream country could barely pull a 1 share.

He is probably singularly qualified to take over the disaster that exists in Entercom's Boston properties.

On the other hand, this may be the second coming of the grey-hair (now retired, so no need to mention) who presided over he start of the WRKO-WHDH death spiral back during the ill-fated "merger" between Pyramid and Atlantic (the genius who decided Eileen Prowse in morning drive was a brilliant idea)
