Nautel ND-5 troubleshooting

I have one that needs help and I've never worked on that series Nautel before. I understand there is a way to test the power modules through the vent holes... Any one have any ND-5 troubleshooting tips?

I think you can very carefully look at the gate voltage via the vent hole. It's around 70v I believe. Be careful... you need to get some insulation around the lead or be extremely careful not to short to chassis. As good as Nautel support is, I just call them. It would only take 5 minutes of their time to tell you EXACTLY what you need to know, and maybe where to go further after that if you do find a problem. If you have a Huntron Tracker, you can pretty easily go through one of those PA / Mod decks and replace the bad ones on the ND series stuff. I understand that the Jazz series 1kw rigs aren't that easy.

Thank you! The transmitter is in VA and I won't see it until next week. I'll certainly have their phone number with me...
