Jen is done

someone handed him a note while he was on the air about 4:30 am saying that this was to be his last show.

Unlikely it happened that way. He may have been handed a note to attend a meeting. He wasn't fired on- air (they aren't that stupid).

Steve knew at the time that most local shows on 50k's (WHAS,WLS) were being axed. I'm sure he was jolted at bit but not surprised. I think he said he was expecting it.

Well, even when she was there the seat was vacant.

There's no way (CBS) will fall for this one. Steve had a n established track record, & BTW, it was largely pressure from the advertisers as well that brought Steve back; Jen does not have the same "pull".

There's no way Jen will ever be brought back. Her attendance was awful and I don't think that type of behavior will be rewarded.

Todd Feinburg is doing Jay Talking tonight, with Bradley Jay doing the 12-5 overnight show. He seems like a nice guy and he is certainly better than Jen, but I have no taste for his overly political topics, and really hope he doesn't get the show.

I wouldn't want Feinburg but depending upon how Bradley Jay does with five hours tonight, he might be a good choice--if he wants it. He said today on facebook he would be on from 10-12 so this is a last minute change.

Jen--never. Something wrong with her. We got LeVeille back by emailing the advertisers and they pressured the station--lots of support for him but not so much for her. Anyway, there is just something wrong with her--does anyone know?
 
Enough of Feinburg already, and please do not even consider him for the overnight show. Do we really need another far right wing, nutjob tea partier on Boston radio? Listening to him tonight has been painful. The guy is farther right then Kuhner and Carr and is annoying as all hell.
 
I flipped the radio on at 10:24 and it took about 5 sec's before I heard "Communist" which is part of what's wrong with talk radio today.

I'm not surprised Bradley Jay got the call. What else were they going to do?

I'm not a Facebook person so if there's any actual information as to why Brien got gassed, it would be good to relay --her words-- to placate those who find speculation of any kind objectionable.

When Jen was at 'RKO, her show leaned right, and I enjoyed listening to her there. I was not a happy camper over how 'RKO abruptly dumped her in late June 2012.

And herein lies the problem: I think Jen is better suited to what you condescendingly refer to as "far right wing, nutjob tea partier" political talk. Left to her own devices at 'BZ, well, you all heard what happened.

'RKO should've found a place for Feinburg who served them well for a number of years. He may not be your cup of "tea", but he's a fine talk-show host.

Kuhner is a very bright guy and is a phenomenal talker when he dives into a monologue. His point-of-view happens to coincide with mine most of the time. If you don't like him, you can always listen to any of the number of the freakin' hip-hop stations this youth-obsessed market has.
 
Just suffered through two hours of rightwinger Feinburg. He does have a good style but I'm tired of these guys who hate everything. Political extremists shouldn't be on in the middle of the night when we want something lighter and more entertaining. Extremists get people all wound up and fighting.

Jay is on now sounding animated and energized. He asks good questions of his guests. I used to think he wasn't that qualified but am constantly surprised at how good he can be. He also has a sense of humor and that's rare these days when everyone seems to have some agenda of complaining. He actually laughs! He's not a bore either. He does all sorts of interesting things and talks about them. He also seems to be a genuinely nice person--a while back was it his girlfriend's relative died?? He was wonderful about it, so compassionate without going overboard. He's a smart man too. Lots of potential there.

Scott's NERW column for today (available by subscription; small excerpt below to whet your appetite) mentions the Brien situation:
(in addition to her personal stuff on air...)
"...on several occasions, Brien simply didn’t show up for her airshift, leaving other hosts to pull impossibly long shifts (seven hours of talk, in one case) or to be called in at very short notice."

As has been mentioned there's at least one FB group out there to try and get her back. While some efforts are successful--getting Steve Leveille back on--some aren't (Bring Back Mike 93.7; Save Progressive Talk yahoo group--though some progtalk did wind up getting on it wasn't quite permanent)
 
Todd Feinburg is a radical Right-Wing Nut who said last night that President Obama" has turned the United States into the Soviet Union"....exact quote.

Todd Feinburg is the same guy who ranted many times when he was on with Tom Finneran on WRKO that he was NOT JEWISH in a loud and angry voice.

Don't know if that makes him anti- Jewish or not but that rant is at least BIZZ-R.

Does Todd Feinburg think there is something wrong in being a Jew or worse being thought as one?

WBZ does not need to turn RIGHT of the cliff with another Right Wing Nihilist.
 
I took a look at the page that Jen.....I mean.....someone created. It was one heck of a laugh. This is a legendary radio station we're talking about - not some daytimer in Pig's Knuckle, Arkansas. While I support her....I mean....someone's First Amendment rights, I do reserve the right to think it's funny and a waste of time.
