Scott Light leaving KPNX

Wow nice jump for him! He definitely deserves that position, I'll miss em on 12 News. Hmm who will replace him and I wonder if they'll continue EVB Live?

Yeah, but WGCL is a mess. Anchors don't last long there. Perhaps it will give him enough time to find a job in his home state of Virginia.

As for who will replace him, who knows? Perhaps Joe Dana? Maybe they'll stick a fork in EVB Live and call it a day (EVB Dead???). I can see it now...12 News at 4 with Tram Mai and Joe Dana.
 
Good luck to Scott! When I first started watching 12News he was a weekend morning anchor. Nice to see him grow as a news person.
 
He has basically done it all at 12 News! I hope he turns it around at CBS Atlanta - hopefully he'll stick around just as long as he did here in Phoenix. And as for Joe Dana.... NO NO NO! Remember when he tried anchoring 12 News Today? He belongs back on weekends- all he needs is a lil more practice! :) Hopefully they will find someone who will suit Tram's unique & unprecedented talent, because honestly Tram Mai belongs in a much higher market!

Joe belongs on weekend MORNINGS! Kim does just fine on weekend evenings. I hope 12 News doesn't waste Brahm Resnick on EVB Live, but they need to find a more prominent place for Brahm.
 
Brahm wouldn't match on EVB Live. He's a stern, straightforward, almost "strict" journalist. He also seems to be politically focused so i highly doubt he'll be joining EVB Live. I'm hoping we get a fresh new host/anchor. Kim also does a fantastic job weekend evenings! I would like to see her at a more prominent postion- she definitely deserves it.

Agreed! I wonder if a social media focused show (similar to the now-defunct ABC15's Now @ Nine) would work at 4pm: cover the headlines of the day, weather, features, and an emphasis on discussion and feedback via social media/email.

Hmm I dont know what the future will hold for EVB Live. We'll have to wait and see. Oh and by the way, is Dr. Matt Pace working Weekend Mornings/Evenings now? What happened to John Caroll??
 
Dr Matt Pace is the permanent weekend meteorologist (mornings and evenings like Caribe used to do). John Carroll, who has a full-time job with World Wildlife Zoo, will be a fill-in only.
 
@grant, you're on a roll this weekend! ;) I saw a report by Krystle Henderson on Thursday and was wondering who she was. They definitely need a fourth meteorologist since Caribe will be going on maternity leave in the next few months.

Other than Dr. Matt, I don't believe 12 News has anyone formally trained in Meteorology, so that would be "Weather Personality".

Watched Krystle do the weekend weather a week ago and she had the National Hurricane Center track forecast for Tropical Storm Karen on her graphics and kept refering to the times as Eastern Standard Time (NHC plot indicated EDT times).
 
@iht, just out of curiosity what do you consider formally trained? Is completing Mississippi State's mail order program good enough?!? I would prefer people who have actually studied Atmospheric Science -- not just "broadcast meteorology".
 
Ressurecting this old thread... tvspy.com is reporting that Scott Light is out at WGCL after just 1.5 years. However, it is no surprise to me. WGCL is toxic.

After reading Former's statement, did a Wikipedia search on WGCL. Under Notable Former On-Air Staff lists 'Brandon Rudat now at KTVK.' I select his page and it's Brandon Lee! Lee is his step-fathers last name.

Yep. Brandon decided to take his step-father's last name. He explained it on Facebook (IIRC) when he moved to Phoenix.
