http://somoslacapital.com/ new

http://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/85235/wtnt-washington-flipping-to-spanish-ac/

>>Metro Radio LLC is pulling the plug on Conservative Talk on 730 WTNT Alexandria VA/Washington DC, 97.7 W249BE Alexandria and 102.9 W275BO Chantilly, VA.

Currently has Mike O'Meara, Laura Ingraham, Coast to Coast

Going to the station's site still shows you the (prevous) lineup, etc. but the Spanish language music greets you immediately when you get to the page.

They seem to be still doing cons talk today but maybe tomorrow 10/1? We'll see. Also mentioned in http://www.dcrtv.com

>>. Tom Taylor, who pens a daily radio biz newsletter, speculated that WTNT's new format could be "Solo Exitos" or "Only The Hits" a la Spanish contemporary......

Thanks--haven't seen that dcrtv entry yet but they may have mentioned same thing radioinsight did: reason is to fulfill contract obligations with shows

seriously? Washington DC. market!

107.9 El Zol WLZL Spanish Hits
87.7 LP Spanish Mix
700- WDMV Spanish
(730) WTNT Spanish Hits. WHAT?
900 WILC Spanish AC
920 WURA Spanish
1030 WWGB Spanish
1050 WBQH Reginal Mexican
1460 WKDV Reginal Mexican
1540 WACA Spanish Talk
1600 WLXE Spanish

Wow not enough!!!!!

Of that list only 2 really matter since they are on FM, El Zol 107.9 and Nueva 87.7. This will be a third option on FM albeit a low-powered one. No worse then the number of English language Top-40 stations in DC right now.

It appears that WILC will be picking up most of the programs that are currently on WTNT come the first of the year. If that happens, I'd like to see the WLMD calls returned if possible; and for there to be some local shows featured.
