Good for Stella! I know she was very disappointed to be moved off of GMAZ. But I do believe that this is even a better opportunity for her -- a main anchor position. All the best to Stella in the "Old Pueblo"!!

It was unfortunate to have her dropped from anchoring GMAZ and it was even more of a disappointment to see her leave 3TV! I would think she would want a better position in a higher market, even if she'll be anchoring the evening newscasts on KGUN. She definitely was a Phoenix quality news anchor, but I'm sure she will shine even brighter in Tucson!

Arguably, many tv anchors will actually go to a smaller market if they can get a main evening co-anchor slot. Even if Stella had remained the 4:30am to 6am anchor on GMAZ, you have to ask yourself whether you would like to continue to get up at 1:00am in a bigger market (where it is unlikely that Kaley is leaving anytime soon) or be the head honcho in a smaller market and go to work at 2pm.

Still, it is sad to see Stella go...but she will do well in Tucson!

I thought Stella indicated that she had familly either somewhere in Arizona or Southern California, so that may be part of the reason she went to Tucson.

Allison Alexander was another one hired by 3TV and then cast off. For some reason I did not think she gelled that well with the GMAZ team. She went to KVOA (NBC-4) in Tucson and took over their 4pm newscast and I thought she was much more relaxed and at ease with that station and the team she worked with. Chemistry!!!

Stella has had her resume video as her twitter link for quite awhile now so I figured she was looking. Then when they bumped her for Jaime Cerreta as Carey's primary substitute I knew she would probably jump at the first anchor spot she was offered. Still sad to see her go.

IIRC, a 3tv insider mentioned that Alison Alexander was only a temporary hire at 3TV (she came in specifically to help out for a short period while Kaley was on maternity leaving). So, I wouldn't say that was "cast off".

Stella was an anchor in Palm Springs before she came to Phoenix. I believe she came specifically to anchor and report. Based on her posts on Facebook, she was deeply disappointed when she was moved off of GMAZ to a non-anchor position. I also assume that 3TV did research that indicated that they needed to go in a different direction. Usually, these decisions are made very carefully.

I'm sorry to see Stella go. I thought she did a great job on GMAZ. I didn't do any research to why 3TV decided to move Yetta Gibson from evenings back to days, especially with Patti Kirkpatrick being M.I.A. Carey Pena and Fields Moseley are putting in a ton of hours and Yetta helped to break it up.

Regarding having a video resume: isn't a saying "you're always looking for your next opportunity?" In broadcasting, very few are lucky are lucky to stay with one station for a long time.

My main point was Allison is a experienced and talented on-air person but just did not gel with Scott, Javi, April, Gina and the other GMAZ team. Was it her or did they not allow her to become a real part of the team since then knew she was only there until Kaley came back.

Allison Alexander also came right as Tara Hitchcock left and that couldn't have been too comfortable. I only watch the first 90 minutes of GMAZ and while she seemed nice, Allison didn't click with me. For some reason, Stella did.

Having a video resume is one thing, but it seems to be incredibly rare for an anchor/reporter to have it as the link on their twitter feed. Most seem to have a station link or a link to their facebook page. The fact that Stella had a link to her video resume made me think she was actively looking for another job. That would seem to be the case here.

I agree. Another comment is that some people are just not morning people. I saw Allison anchor a couple of times when she was in Providence. She seemed much more confident and poised than she ever did on GMAZ. I wonder if it was partially due to the early morning hours.

Remember Brian Webb's dreadful performance on weekend GMAZ a few years back. Never appeared that he was fully awake. Later, when he subbed on ABC15's weekend evening newscasts, he seemed fine.

In today's social media interactions, I would think that having a link to your video resume/air check would be one of the ways to get it viewed other than putting it on a media resource website. So many sites today want the links to your Facebook, Twitter, Linkdin and others.

I have seen a number of video resumes posted by people in the Phoenix media. ABC15 Daphne Monroe's has been out there for almost four years if I remember correctly. Hard to say if she has had any inquiries and possibly turned them down or found out that the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.

I know Stella Inger will do very well @ KGUN. I will miss her excellent skills and solid radio / TV anchor voice. She will be a success wherever she goes. Best wishes, Stella...you rock.
