Now TRN sues Doyle!

The meltdown continues. This morning Tom Taylor Now reports that TRN's Mark Masters is now suing host Jerry Doyle for breach of contract for running his website, EpicTimes.com

It's the 2nd story down the page
http://somethinglikenothing.net/ttn/ttn-10152013.html

Even if TRN manages to survive, who in the world would be so masochistic as to want to work for them?

Anyone know if Doyle is still on-air after this news?

From Doyle's Facebook: "JD here. I have to travel to Oregon to work out some issues with my syndicator. I will not be doing the show Wednesday or Thursday but hope to be back with you soon.
Stay close to this page & EpicTimes.com for all the updates.
Thanks for all your support, comments & feedback.
Sincerely appreciated!!!"

There will ALWAYS be someone so desperate for syndication that they'd put up with this crap for their "big shot".

True. The question still stands: Who would be so desperate? Guess we'll find out. I wonder if the fill-in hosts they have on are getting paid...

The guy I replaced would stab his own mother for that shot. Instead he's doing a show on a rimshot of an unrated market. I guess that beats having to wake up at 6am to make prank calls to my show.

There has been no update from Jerry saying he's back on. The only other posts since have been about TRN taking down/putting back up his website.

A listener's post to the profile is complaining that there has been no update to his podcast - that suggests he is still off-air.

Recent FB posts from Jerry indicate he is still off-the-air and the show is suffering from awful fill-in hosts:

Morning all. JD here. Having issues with my syndicator, Talk Radio Network (TRN). I miss the opportunity to hash out the issues of the day with you. Hopefully there will be a resolution sometime soon. My apologies to you all but please know I am doing everything I can to get to a place where I can have some degree of stability in how you receive the show.

Morning all. JD here.
Many of you are commenting on the quality, or lack thereof, of the fill-in hosts. First off, I have never had the final say in who the fill-in hosts are. That decision lies with Mark Masters, the CEO of Talk Radio Network (TRN).
Personally, I like Dr. Bill Wattenburg. While his show may not pace the same as mine, he's wicked smart & I enjoy his insights. As for Roy Masters, Charles Butler, Marrius Forte, David Ruben, etc., I'll leave that call up to you.
There are good, what I like to call, "guest hosts" out there. Anita Finlay out of LA & Ross Kaminsky out of Denver are 2 that come to mind. Heck, my former board op Jesse Edwards & former producer Brad Silvers would be excellent hosts. They know the topics, have great instincts & understand how radio paces.
If you have any comments on the fill-ins, good or bad, contact TRN and/or your local affiliates and let them know your opinions.
After all, the show is for you & you should be getting the kind of hosts you deserve.

I caught the end of what's still being called "The Jerry Doyle Show" yesterday and the host (who didn't give his name but said he'd be back tonight) was abysmal. He kept stepping on the callers and stammering his way through the entire segment. "And and and we need to get to ... to get to ... pause ... we we have a caller on the line who who who ... who wants to to talk about ......" -- that kind of thing. I don't often use the word "unlistenable," but this really was.

I don't understand how Doyle can continue to work for these bozos. I hope he's seeking to get out of his contract and find another syndicator. Cumulus or Clear Channel should take notice. If there's a host who could hold and maybe increase the audience in the slots vacated by the Rush/Hannity moves next year, it's Jerry Doyle, IMO.

Wadio, based on who I saw Doyle talking to at TALKERS, he's definitely shopping around.

Masters was conspicuously absent this time and last time (maybe even last year too). He's been a fixture at the event up until all the lawsuitery beginning with the one against Dial Global.

Besides the obvious reasons Jerry Doyle needs to separate himself from this two-bit network is a technical one: they have the audio gating set so high that his voice (and the fill-in hosts too) barely break through. It's fatiguing to listen to.

TRN is apparently sending an email to affiliates claiming Doyle and Humprhies are coming back next week. I hear Doyle is back on Wed. From his Facebook posts, he is changing his show name to "Jerry Doyle Live" from "The Jerry Doyle Show".

Does this mean that TRN and Doyle settled the lawsuit? Does the name change suggest that Doyle is now the owner of his own show?

Your speculation?
