Louisville Radio Ratings

Wow look how badly sfr is cushing qmf!!! I have no idea how that transfers into one vs the other in sales but dang. Seems to me the classic rock format is getting to be a tired old format and will go the way of smooth jazz and oldies eventually. And 98.9 is creeping up ever so slowly on djx...

I remember in 2010 when the helabalu festival at churchhill downs was put on they did a survey to see what acts to book and the most popular formats here in da ville are classic rock and country so the classic rock format has more life in this market then some.

I see the Main Line stations are listed again...apparently, they're going once per quarter to try and deflect some of that large Arbitron subscription cost. At least with their stations listed, the public listing doesn't look like Swiss cheese with 5 big holes!

Here are the Summer P1 ratings for Louisville. Main Line stations are not listed.

A few things stick out. That is the lowest I've ever seen WHAS. And WKJK beat WKRD.

Best book for QMF in a while Glad to see it. WKRD's ratings will probably go up now that the college sports seasons are getting ready to kick off.

Except it's not a book, it's P1 of the trend. Arbitron hasn't done any weighting yet.

My mistake. I'm still glad to see QMF have a good trend as I want two classic rock stations fighting it out, not one dominating the other, so that they don't get complacent. I wonder how Bob and Tom does against 107.7 in the mornings.

SFR is "Classic Hits" and they have a new morning man starting next Monday.

WKRD is in the toilet. Hopefully they will improve with college sports starting. Great ratings for QMF. The Eagle really dropped, I guess that is why they have added so much different music lately.

106.9 aint doin that great. y don't they listen drop the light rock branding n go after the max. the signal at 106.9 is much better then 102.3

Those numbers are twelve plus. 106.9's target is Women 25-54 so those are the numbers that matter, 12 plus not so much.

Over the last twenty five or maybe more years the top 12 plus spot has been either WAMZ or WHAS so someone else getting the top spot is something you don't see everyday.

I was surprised to see WGZB at the top. I think that the last time a station other than WHAS or WAMZ was #1 was WDJX and that was back in the late 80's.

That's not right. WHAS/WAMZ has been #1 and #2 every book since sometime in 1985 or earlier.

WRKA was #1 in 1 book at some point- 83 or 84. I wasn't around. (I was out of the market from 79-86)

If DJX made it to number 1 it was in the early 80s.

That would be hard since WDJX did not start until August 1985!
What I found in my notes was that WDJX was #2 in the Spring of 1989 with a 15.3 and 13.6 in the Summer of 1989.
In both ratings WAMZ was #1 and WHAS was #3.It was big news at the time because WHAS was not in the top two.
