Howie...stuttering and stammering?

Yes, it was suggested the Mayor get a show on WRKO but Sandy said something like "advertisers wouldn't be too crazy about his speaking" (meaning Menino) but they said maybe Bill Smith (Smitty) could do the ads instead, etc. There was a podcast on the RKO
site with the Menino malapropisms but I don't think any calls (like the one complaining about Howie's stuttering) made it into that podcast.Of course one former mayor used to have a show on RKO--Ray Flynn.

One of my favorite Mumbonics clips (I've never been able to find it online) was the time that he said "If you need an emergency, call 9, 1, 1", and if I remember accurately, he said the "9, 1, 1" part slowly as though he thought people were writing it down.

Here's something that will make you fear for the republic. When that system was first announced, it was billed as "call Nine-Eleven."
It was changed to "call 9-1-1" after police departments and public safety officials were inundated by calls from people complaining that their phone keypad didn't have an 11.

Another famous example of confusion with terminology...early users of MS-DOS, when confronted with the prompt "To start press any button" would call technical support and ask "where's the "ANY" button?
