WMSX 30W-N--not 25
The application that was originally filed specified 25W-N but the night power that was granted is 30W. Big deal! I'm pretty sure I won't be able to hear the night signal here in Arlington--that is, if I wanted to listen to Portuguese. The day signal will probably be audible, albeit just barely and is likely to require at least rotating the radio to pick it up at all.
BTW, the mother ship (WSRO 650 Ashland) was just granted a license to cover for higher night power (108W-N vs the original 62W-N) but I believe that WSRO filed for 160W-N as well as 100 (or 108)W. I have no idea whether a CP is in the works for the higher night power. WSRO IS now audible at night in Arlington Heights, but the signal is something that only a DXer could love. OTOH, the 1500W D signal is quite strong here--~5 mV/m and on a decent radio is not bothered by WRKO's HUGE signal.
