I had an ultralight radio with me when I was observing the annular eclipse of May 10, 1994, from Michigan, where I was almost in the center of the path of perfect annularity. I can't remember if I had the Sony ICF-SW10 or the Realistic DX395.
The top of the AM band sounded like the same frequencies would sound about half an hour after sunrise - only this was midday. The shortwave BC bands sounded normal, but there may have been some difference in the propagation that I would not hear, since very few shortwave broadcasters were broadcasting to North America in the late-morning hours (even back in 1994).
I did not note any particular stations heard, as I was too busy talking to other family members who were with me, observing the eclipse, and taking pictures (sure was eerie to be taking pictures on a clear sunny day and hearing the automatic shutter take a fifth of a second to shoot the picture!).
