KTXD Dallas drops Me-TV

Last edited:
According to a B&C story, they're also picking up a Monday Night Football game with the Cowboys and Bears on December 9 to air it locally on broadcast. However, looking at their channel guide, they have very little HD coverage and I'm sure it still has a 'must-delete' reputation on Dallas cable systems as a past all-informercial channel.

Yes I was shocked to learn Me-TV was on the .4 sub there. You'd think Dallas would have Me-TV at least at the
.2 sub level. Doubt they even got any cable coverage. But, Me-TV will probably soon find a better replacement
for this large market.

The problem is Dallas has four of their Big Six stations network owned, with the CW as a de facto O&O via Tribune and sided with Antenna, and the only option, Belo's WFAA/ABC stuck with Live Well through a group deal. Unless something gives and one of the CBS stations actually allows a subchannel that isn't a news robofeed, Me-TV can only go to either a Spanish station or one of the LD stations where it'll never get picked up on cable. The market is incredibly oversaturated with religious stations, but none of them are giving up anytime soon either.

At least Dallas had a ME-TV affiliate locally, Nashville doesn't have one. Yet we got This TV (which is better than it use to be, but still show WAY TOO MANY obscure, low-budget movies over and over) and even a bigger waste of TV Space RTV and the Nashville Networkeven though their parent company, Lukens Television is no longer around.

I don't know why KTXD dropped MeTV from 47.4. That was a stupid decision. At least I'm glad they picked up a few old sitcoms that KFWD 52 used to air. I was really disappointed when KFWD switched to stupid Mundo Fox as if Dallas didn't already have enough Spanish stations.

Actually, Nashville does have MeTV, but it's on a low powered station, WJDE-LD 31.1. I don't know how good a signal it has.

KFWD doesn't have a subchannel, so could that be the new home for Me-TV?

That's the first I've heard about it. I wasn't even aware that there was achannel 31.1 in Nashville. It must be one of those stations that you can only pick up next to the transmitter...LOL.

Luken is very much still around.

I noticed today that KTXD tried to fool the angry Facebook mob by telling people that their official page was no longer official. No one bought it. This station is not to be taken seriously! It's a textbook example of poor crisis management.
