First Christmas commercial?

I forgot to do this Monday, but I had already seen three. The first was for PetSmart and included Santa Claus.

There really isn't much point in this thread now. I sure don't remember this many commercials this early in previous years.

BZZZ. Thank-you for playing. KMART has been running Christmas ads since before Halloween. There is a woman sitting in an office with a Gingerbread man cookies sneaking up on her.

The V.O. says "Don't let the holidays sneak up on you. KMART Layway."

Best Buy has been running X-Mas ads featuring "Twas the night before Christmas" about a man getting electronics.

It begins way before Halloween in the retail world. There are two Dollar Tree stores near me. One in my town and one in the next town over where I used to live. Both had some Christmas stuff out in August.

To be fair this is a late Thanksgiving, thus a shorter traditional Christmas selling season.

Hobby Lobby, a craft store chain, starts selling Christmas merchandise in July!!!

And then there are the stores that sell Christmas merchandise year round in places like Branson, MO and Gatlinburg, TN.

Almost every store imaginable has some sort of "Christmas in July" promotion, making this thread moot.

I saw the Pet Smart commercial with Santa Claus at least a few weeks ago.

Slightly OT: but Office Depot and Staples put out crayons and trapper keeps in June when some schools were still in session
