Saving AM radio-----with FM translators

but how about alll the AM stations who won't have $$$$ to add an fm translator. ?
seems to me many AM stations willl go out of business & off the air in years to come.
Nobody willl want to own them.
 
It's not just $$$. It's also available frequencies in MANY areas.
 
As Bongwater says, most of them won't be able to find a frequency for an FM translator, regardless of whether they can afford to pay for it.

Yes, I think quite a few AMs will surrender their licenses over the next few years. IMHO that's a good thing for the remaining stations.

Kind of like cattle farms when drought years hit. "Hey neighbor, why don't you go out of business... then maybe I can survive."
