I was in the RGV over the weekend, and spent a little time listening to 93.9 XHRAW. At last check, the station was "La Poderosa 93.9", playing Tejano, Conjunto, Norteno, and Corridos for the Miguel Aleman, TA/Roma, TX area, with production quality that wouldn't really impress.
Two things clued me in that things could have changed: the production quality was night-and-day over what it had been (the station wasn't even legal IDing before), and driving north out of Roma toward Laredo, the signal started dying out at a point that couldn't have been further than 10 miles from Miguel Aleman. On the station's Facebook page, there's a new station vehicle that proudly gives the station's location as Reynosa, and a few other pics on that page suggest that La Poderosa 93.9 and Xtrema 95.3 are now sister stations.
Fred Cantu or David Eduardo, any scoop on these changes? XHRAW's signal didn't even make it to La Joya before, so it's hard for me to believe that they could be doing remotes in Reynosa without a transmitter move.
