Chuck Geiger Joins Townsquare/Cheyenne as OM/BM

Add 30 years and 50 lbs, and it could be the same guy. How many Chuck Geigers could there be out there in the radio world? It's not exactly one of those generic "Mark Elliot" or "Rick Shaw" type names you used to hear in every market.

Geiger was also on X-100, I believe

Well We had 2 Jack Armstrongs in this market, The late DJ on KFRC in SFO and KKHR in LA who had a Geiger type persona and the Talk show host Jack Armstrong who teams with with Joe Getty on KKSF 910 and KSTE Sacramento.

Is there a Cheyenne in the Bay Area? If not, I'm missing the point of the original post....

The point was: though Mr. Geiger was hired as the Operations and Brand Manager for Townsquare Media's Cheyenne, WY cluster, the original poster wants to know if this person has a Bay Area connection - did he work at KFRC San Francisco from 1982-1984?

My point is that the original poster proves time and time again that he's here to bloviate about useless facts he Googles, and tries desperately to make them relevant to the current state of media in the Bay Area. This is yet another example.

Chuck Geiger is a fine talent. Too bad he gets pulled into the OP's need to see his name on screen and waste bandwidth.

The Jack Armstrong of A&G is easily young enough to be Jackson Armstrong's son...but he's not. He grew up in Western Ks under a different name.

A lot of non-professionals like to post here about former Bay Area jocks they knew and loved that have moved onto other things, both in the radio industry and outside. No, it's probably not relevant to the "current state of media in the Bay Area," but that's not the only reason people post. Somebody used to joke that we couldn't go a week without mentioning John Mack Flanagan...and that's probably the first time his name has shown up in a couple of years.

Yeah, I was just wondering about John Mack Flanagan the other day! Whatever happened to him?

Oh wait...I know who's going to answer that one.

If anyone is still unsure, that IS the same Chuck Geiger who worked at KFRC, X-100 and KWSS back in the 80's and 90's. He had been in Anchorage as the OM of a cluster before that. So he moved from Anchorage to Cheyenne.

I don't know what happened to him, but whatever it was, as long as it keeps him off radio, I hope it keeps happening to him. Never could stand that gasbag. Talk about 'not going a week without mentioning' him, his late '80s-early '90s show at KSFO/KYA was a turnoff for me because he couldn't go 15 minutes without incessant talking/circle-jerking about Elvis, even if he wasn't playing Elvis songs. And any time he went to Graceland, it was even worse. 'ELVIS, ELVIS, ELVIS, man!' Yeah, John Crock, we get it, shut up and play the Beatles.
