WLIM 1580 AM Rocker?

The person on the other board it was only for a couple of hours. And the screaming in Spanish on 1580 is Radio Adonai a Spanish Christian format also heard part time on WLIE 540.

Those Spanish preachers love to scream. I've heard them on Radio Cantico Nuevo too. They used to be on 990 in Hartford full-time. Thankfully now 990 only runs it all-day Saturdays and after 3PM on Sundays. - One Saturday evening a former buddy of mine were driving around Hartford and we were making fun of the lady that was on there screaming at the top of her lungs for more than 20 minutes straight.

Then another time 840 in New Britain didn't switch to night time power and after Midnite there was a male Spanish Preacher on who was screaming into the microphone with the sound effect of someone crying in the background. - That was creepy to say the least.
 
Just checked this morning around 10:45AM and 1580 was playing Rock Music instead of Radio Adonai, which was the Spanish Christian network 1580 had been running since flipping from the mainstream Spanish Format they were running previously. Did Radio Adonai run out of money? Are they still on 540 WLIE? Radio Adonai was also on WLIE a few hours a day a few days a week. WLIE's website shows Radio Adonai on the schedule, but who knows if their schedule is up-to-date.
 
Radio Adonai is still broadcasting on WLIE.
WLIM sister station WRKL in Pomona NY which had carried Radio Cantico (a different LI Spanish religious station which is still broadcast on WNYH 740 AM), has also been airing continuous rock music for several weeks.
Owner Polenet has been trying to sell the station in Rockland County. Perhaps a buyer has been found for it, along with WLIM?

There was the report a couple of weeks ago that JVC Broadcasting wanted to take another crack at an all-news station for Long Island. Would this be a good home for covering Suffolk County?
 
I finally had a chance To get to Long Island this weekend.
WRKL 910 New City , and WLIM 1580 are both Running Radio TED..
910 has a mix of Jazz ,Classic Rock, Country, Oldies Radio TED.
1580 currently Running Radio TED SMOOTH JAZZ. and since He does Not know what he will Play Next. I can switch it up..
Let me know what Format you Feel Long Island AM radio is missing( NOT TALK gag). and I will See what I can do..

I was a senior member on the boards, my account Got messed up.. I guess I had to start From scratch again .. LOL
to Kevin.. Yep Jack and Dottie were personal friends with my Father. My dad had a Big Band on Long Island still does,but now in FLA.
My Fathers band was with RCA records, and Jack used to Play them on the station,
I remember when Before WLIM it used to Be "Where Your Friends Are" WYFA 1580… now thats giving away My age a Bit. I have the Entire WPAT Music of your life Library in my collection also..
 
I'm probably older than you , lol. In 1973 I was 16 and working at WSUF 1580 AM before it had a Country format. Did some time at the beginning of WYFA too in the Summer of 1978. Jack & Dot were neighbors of mine. I always regret turning down an offer to work at WLIM.
 
Are you Sure? lol…Im in my 50's I think your the same age as My wife. I think you have 3 years on me..
