Trey Radel is now a Congressmen representing Southwest Florida. He quit his radio show on WINK News Radio in Fort Myers, where he was a conservative talker, to run for office and now he's been arrested for possessing cocaine. The feds set up a sting operation and allege Radel made a buy. Radel was arrested in his Washington apartment and is scheduled to appear in court at 9AM. He's admitted to being an alcoholic and says he needs help. More coverage HERE and HERE.

It was actually WFSX-FM 92.5 FOX News that he was on mornings. He replaced Mandy Connell.

I'm sure his apology has been well thought out and sincere since it took nearly three weeks for him to acknowledge his cocaine possession arrest and to issue an apology.

I'm sure the mayor of Toronto, doesn't appreciate this other politician stealing his (Rob Ford) thunder!

Fortunately for Radel and his career in the U.S. House of Representatives, he pulled this stunt in D.C. instead of Florida, where this would have been a felony rather than a misdemeanor.

Florida voters can be very forgiving and/or forgetful (not sure which) come re-election time.
