Power to the People...

...or more FM clutter?

The FCC released the list of LPFM applications for Western New York. In Buffalo, there are apps for 88.5, 102.1, 103.7.

http://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?state=NY&call=&city=&arn=&serv=FL&vac=&freq=88.1&fre2=107.9&facid=&class=&dkt=&list=1&dist=&dlat2=&mlat2=&slat2=&NS=N&dlon2=&mlon2=&slon2=&EW=W&size=9

88.5? First adjacent to WBFO on 88.7? That doesn't seem right.

102.1 would ice CFNY. I guess that's no different from the CTRC allowing LP FMs in Toronto on 1st adjacents or actual Buffalo frequencies.

103.7 looks legit.

There's also a 102.1 in Albion (WJCA). Talk about clutter....

From what I've heard from Scott Fybush on another forum, WBFO has nothing to worry about. The 88.5 tower coordinates are far enough from WBFO's service area that there won't be any interference.

(that, and the FCC cannot possibly grant the 88.5 application, as the Commission doesn't have any jurisdiction in Kyrgyzstan..)
