November book

With the early start of Christmas music this is the final book before WARM and KCMS shoot to the top of the ratings. Often wonder why more stations don't go all-Christmas. Didn't KJR-FM do it one year and have success? KZOK, KISW, KIRO continue to top the 6+ numbers and 25-54 men and adults, they also remain on top in 6a-7p prime demos for adults and men. For women in prime dayparts and demos kiss showed up strong, especially in mornings, Hot is in the mix, but mostly afternoons and nights, with no numbers before noon. kplz remains in the top three especially in mornings, same for WOLF.

The biggest battle in seattle in prime 6a=7p demos is for 18-34. KISW solid with men and in women KBKS shot from way behind to ahead of HOT,Movin, kube, WOLF klck and the END. Wolf easily won the country war. One has to think one of these stations will challenge KZOK and KISW's domination of men and prime adult demos.

Big winner this book was probably kiss jumping ahead of the 18-34 female pack of HOT, MOVIN, KUBE, KLCK. Big losers were probably movin and warm, but look for WARM to own it all for the next couple of books. Fa la la la la.

KUBE is still smarting pretty badly from KHTP. But has KHTP started any advertising yet?

I just had a look at the numbers and yes Hot is giving KUBE a real run for its money. It'll be interesting to see what happens to KUBE in the next year. That station's audience has already been trimmed by about a third, and if it keeps declining there's no way I can see CC keeping it around. I do wonder what happened to Kiss, that seems really odd that they shot up like that this book. Yes Hot was running spots when I listened a couple weeks ago, I think they have been for almost a month now. I'll have to confirm, but it looks like they only have 1 break an hour.

You do of course mean the money demo numbers - not the beauty contest numbers, right?
