Jan 2014 ratings for Atlanta

http://ratings.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/arb047

The translator for the True Oldies Station 98.9 is at a 1.2, up from a 0.9. It keeps climbing. With its limited coverage that is amazing.

All News 106.7, WYAY is up to a 1.5 from a 1.2.

CBS's sports station WZGC 92.9 (I don't know what they call themselves since I don't listen to them) is up to a 1.4.

V103, WVEE jumped from a 6.1 to a 7.4. Huge move up.

WSB-AM/FM simulcast is to a 7.1 from a 6.4.

WQXI, The Zone is flat at 0.5.

WGST squeaks in at a flat 0.1.

This is not surprising, with the older demos starving for a music format they can relate to, and don't want to pay for SiriusXM, or don't like flipping through the decades channels on SiriusXM to get their music fix. This is one reason I did not renew my trial sub on SXM in my new car, not a real "oldies" channel per se. The Bridge is too soft and concentrates on a small handful of artist, no Motown. The decades channels, while pretty far reaching playlist wise, are just that: decades.

TOC is a great FREE alternative that requires no subscription or special radio (HD), despite a small coverage area, this should be a clue that there is a home for this on the ATL radio dial. FWIW, my car has one of those rear window antennas with an amplifier inline and unless some tropo is active, TOC's little 250 watts does quite well in Cobb county.

I am surprised 92.9 the Lame is up, but still less than Dave before it was put out of it's misery. No surprise about V-103.
