It doesn't seem like January was a good month for rhythmic formats. I wouldn't throw in the towel on KHTP yet. Naturally this was a good sports book. What's with the CHRs in this market? They seem to be going back and forth.
 
Warm is skewing Hot AC nowadays. They are playing Wake Me Up by Avicii, why the heck are they doing that? I've also heard "Love You Like a Love Song" by Selena Gomez on 106.9, back when I lived in Marysville and Monroe. Maybe the former soft rock folks are sick and tired of them skewing more and more toward Adult Top 40.
Which is WHY I listened to KAFE and KXXO more than 106.9. Way better playlists on both. They were still playing '70s stuff once in a while at last check back in late 2013 before Christmas.

AC today is just Diet CHR. And I facepalm whenever I hear "Paralyzed" Finger Eleven on any AC station that runs a liner "Continuous Lite Favorites" before launching into it.

If that song is "Adult Contemporary", then so is anything by Metallica.
 
Now this site is back and I see so are the same ol posters, posting the same ol rhetoric....blah blah blah. Kent and Allen are old, Not enough Kokomo, I don't like what_____station is doing, they are messing up what they have, or they need to get rid of what they have...Hey I got an idea how about instead of posting and what not you go out and do it? Talk is cheep and words and non refundable. As far as ratings: seems to me you are only looking 6+ - shame on you. You should know better by now cmon. Seriously when you break out the numbers in the demos that matter then you can talk and run your mouth like you got legs for lips...other wise STFU and go back to programming your iPod. I love how folks who are no longer in the industry feel compelled to weigh in on matters they have no clue what they are talking about. Hey this aint 1980's radio times change, so does the music so does the audience - don't like what one station play maybe they aren't trying to reach 50+ old men who used to work in the business or couldn't cut it.
 
I wouldn't call Warm Hot AC just yet, they aren't current-heavy enough and probably never will be as long as KLCK is around. I would possibly call them hot AC instead of Hot AC if you catch my drift. Or maybe the more accurate term would be fresh AC. I think part of the problem right now is there is so much music that's getting airplay on multiple formats. Look at Kesha F. Pitbull - Timber which is getting some airplay on Adult Top 40 as well as CHR and Rhythmic. Then there are acts like Maroon5 and Bruno Mars that write songs perfect for AC but also get significant airplay on CHR or even rhythmic.

I would shut off (and probably 1000s of other listeners) KRWM if they played Metallica or Guns and Roses. Same with if they played any rap song (wouldn't be surprised if they've wanted to add Macklemore, just because he's from Seattle) ANY rap on an AC station is a no-no. Hell, go back to playing "We've Only Just Begun" by the Carpenters. That's better than 1/2 of the AC stuff nowadays.
